Hey Josephine, My OS is doing the fancy hip surfacing pioneered by dr. derek mckinnon from england. It's called the Birgminham method, butv the have further devloped in to use an anterior approach. Dr. mcKinnon came here to observe and believes surgeouns will com e here ton learn it. My OS is Dr. John Keggi.

Yep - the Birmingham resurfacing has been around a canny while now so while it may be new over there it's not here. It's actually based up a procedure that was developed in about 1930!! but the prosthesis is a bit more sophisticated!!

I also new McKinnon a bit. I went to that hospital for an interview for a theatre manager job but didn't fancy the city, very rough in them days (not much better now!) He was on the interviewing panel.
