Doug, Glad to hear ya'll are all ok down there. You poor guys have been through the wringer with this one. Has this storm system caused much havoc with your knees? Blasted thing can't decide where to go.
It has been rainy and windy here since Wednesday afternoon. My whole leg
has been giving me fits. It is kinda hard to describe, not really pain, just a dull ache. Like its letting me know it's there.
Work has gone well. I have been really tired the last 3 evenings.
It is like all my energy has left me. Thank goodnes I have not fallen asleep at my desk, however it almost happened Thursday.
My OS told me at my 4 week post-op visit that he had flexed me to 135 while I was on the table. Well, I got my operative note Wednesday and in it he states he bent my knee to 125. Now in my opinion 10 degrees is ALOT!
At PT today I got to 119 ROM. My therapist was really happy. My non operative leg is bending to 115. He feels that 120 is going to be the magic number for me. So I am almost there! Like I told him, I have alot more"cushion" on my thighs that is gonna prevent me from getting to 130! :-)
He said he will be satisified with the 120 to 122 range.
There was a lady there today that is 2 weeks post-op. It is hard to believe that just 6 weeks ago I was at that stage. Time has gone by so quickly.

I go to see my OS Wednesday for my 8 week post-op visit and I hope he is happy with the progress. Sam (my hubby) is going with me to PT next Friday, so now he can see why I am tuckered out when I leave therapy.
I still use my cane only when I go outside and in the hallways at work.
I am one of those who tends to "stub my foot" on the carpet and I don't want to take a nose dive!
Hope all are doing well.
Take care.

We are getting lots and lots of rain. We had one oak tree blow down in the front yard. This morning we are getting even very heavy rain..
I had to push the two boxers out of the house. The both went and were soaked and ticked when they got back inside.
We are on the back side of the system now. The coastal town of St. Marks is starting to flood.
As for the knee. I started taking Advil, Aleve, Tylenol for a couple of days as it approached. Yesterday, 800mg of Advil, then I gave up and took an Ultram. First pain pill I've taken in a couple of months. Got a feeling I'm going to just stay stoned today. Might have to put some Led Zepplin or Hendrix on the ipod.
Sounds like you are doing fantastic with your recovery. From my experience, anything over 120 and you can be fully functional. Those first couple of months, you tend to be consumed with ROM. And you need to be. But, I was really glad when I was able to slak back on the ROM work and just enjoy working out. And oddly, it continues to get better.
Also, I had a big numb spot on the right, outside, of the incision. Just this past week or so, the feeling came back. It started with a tingling, itching sensation then when that stopped, poof, there is feeling.

Doug,
We finally had sunshine today! A nice breeze also, but the humidity has been ugly. I have numbness in the same spot you are talking about.
Can't feel a thing. The cramping and pain I had on the inside of my knee has finally gone away. It only hurt when the PT was really pushing or having me push for those numbers. I noticed Friday it now longer hurt or cramped. I am so thankful my scar is not hypersensative. Jeans don't bother me.
Saw the picture of your boxers with your mom. Beautiful babies!!!
Ours are spoiled rotten. We have 2 female mixed. They love us but don't like each other! One is 12, the other 10. They have finally calmed down towards each other.
Hopefully you guys will be out of that system soon. Boy, this one must really love Florida. Can't recall ever seeing one hang on this long, and in the same
place!

Fay is gone, at least from Tallahassee. It looks like we'll get a few isolated rain bands but nothing like these last few days.
