My sister, niece and her boyfriend came up for the long weekend (4 days) and I was able to cook, bake and serve all the meals. I can't even remember the last time I have been able to do that without major pain and not being able to get out of bed the next day. The knees (especially the problem right one) did get a bit tired and swollen but was not a major problem.

It is nice to start doing some of the things you gave up for so many years.

Even with all that, the PT today was able to push the left one to 120/0 and the right one just lost a couple of degrees with the swelling but we did get it to 114/-3. That does make it easy to keep pushing the exercise. I have developed hip pain (most likely inflammation) so he gave me some exercises for that.

Congrats Simon. It is things like that when we realise we are getting a normal life back again, one where we are no longer in severe pain. Makes the recovery ups and downs all worth while eh?

That sounds just great, Simon. You really have been an influence for the good on here. Thank you so much!

Simon,
Wonderful news! How it is that you are getting your life back and are able to do things you have not done in years. I bet you not only felt good about it, but you were able to enjoy being able to do it too.
Congratulations! You are definitely on the road to recovery and the ROM will come. Wonderful to be at 120/0. The other leg will come along. Just be sure to try to work them evenly and together. I have found I favored my left leg for 12 years and that caused the damage to my right. I have been making a concerted effort to not continue to favor the left. I go this PM to see my OS for my own 4 month check.

Best,
Crystal

Simon -
Congrats on the busy weekend! Sounds like normal is beginning to make a return! Promise me that if the hiop keeps hurting you will mention it to your OS. We thought the hip pain I had was from 3 months of limping - not so. Granted i t wasn't news I wanted to hear - but I would rather catch something now so it can be fixed than later and have fewer options. It probably is just from the way we all walk (I could have passed for Lurch for a long time this summer).

So glad to hear the great news though about the entertaining!
All of you BTRs are my idols - I couldn't imagine having to deal with double what I have. You are all truly inspiring!
