HI
I am now 6 weeks post op and feeling great. But I do have a question. When I am walking I get a tingly feeling in my calf it feels like pins and needles it doesn't last long but just a weird feeling. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Also my thigh is very sore at the end of the day. I do a lot of walking during the day and up and down stairs so I am wondering if that is why my thigh is sore or if it is because I am walking wrong. It is on the left side of my thigh the one I had the tkr on. I try to hard not to swing my leg but I seem to swing it when I don't concentrate on walking heel, toe. Thanks for any help

Why - did you think this was all going to be a distant memory after 6 weeks? You are barely half way through the full healing process and you're surprised you get soreness when you are on your feet all day?

Think on this - the miracle is that you are able to do the job you do so very soon after such a major operation. I think you are expecting such a lot of yourself. Most people have anything up to 3 months off after a THR and yet you are back at work already! You mustn't be surprised if your leg complains about it!

I am not that surprised that my leg complains at the end of the day. The Job I do is sometimes very demanding I did not have the luxury of taking a long time off I went back after only two weeks because I do not get paid if I don't work. I am a home day care provider I do have only older kids 7-12 and I have a helper so it is it not to hard I can rest and ice and elevate it is just the weird tingly feeling that I get that I was wondering about and the thigh pain just wanted to see if it was normal. I am a little crazy but I feel really good and sometimes I forget I had a TKR so I have to watch myself. I am back to doing most things I did before the tkr. The kids have been great helping with my exercises and walking with me getting me things that I need and doing for themselves for a change. I am getting really spoiled here and at camp everyone is always looking out for me and driving me in the golf carts around the campground bringing me drinks and food and helping in anyway they can. I am loving it now because next summer I am on my own. Thanks for listening.

No worries! I am totally in awe of you! I realised you had restrictions and that you battle on anyway. Your boss should walk a mile in your shoes and he might think differently!
