My knee is really hot is that natural???? Been doing PT 3 times a week...can bend my knee back to 115....but I still can't get the leg to come out straight...which they said will take me longer than other people.
Also when I'm in bed and laying on myself the leg kind of feels like it is out of joint....or it feels like a bad headach.....make any sense?? do any of you have that same feeling in your knee. Or does it just take time to get it back to normal. Thanks again for all of your information!!
Jane

I had the same type of heat and pain as most all of us do. At 6 months all was gone except slight stiffness due to swelling and that was very sporadic. The recovery for this surgery take a long time I am now at 11 months post op and I can say my new knees few natural and 1000 time better than what I had lived with for the last 15 years.

Good luck!

How many weeks are you?

Whatever - you should be icing them. They're going to get hot - it's the healing. Ice them - and elevate.

Hi jane, I'm 3& half weeks out from a LPKR. I know I'm a little earlier than you
and I'ts only a partial. Mine feels just like yours does. Hot, Tight, a little out
of joint, possibly because we are not used to a foreign object being there.
I'm chalking It up as part of the healing process. Yes It will definately take
time and hard work to get back to a sense of normallcy. Best Wishes, Tom

There is no way to speed the heeling up. Doing excessive PT (exercising) does not speed the heeling. Sometimes it can cause you to go backwards.

I am 6 months out my knee still gets stiff around the bottom of the knee and knee cap.
I did not have the hot so much but the OS said it was due to the heeling on the inside.

Hang in there and you will see changes daily. At about 3 months you will be amazed at some of the changes.

By the way your Rom is great at 115.

Pat--BRILLIANT!

When I read your post it was like a big light went off in my head!!

"there is no way to speed the healing" and excessive PT can actually make you go backwards! I never thought of it that way, but you are absolutely right!

Oh--Oneleg.....my doc says the knee might stay hot for 6 mos. to a year. And like everyone else says, its part of the healing....lots of blood flow to that area.

Well, I've been saying that ad nauseum for almost 2½ years! Glad to see someone got it at last!
