Welcome Mom2Lucy,
I too am an October Feistie so far I am the lucky last 31/10/18. I am having a left TKR also. Beachy is right we are all a bit nervous, but soooo much great advice here at bonesmart , we are a great encouragement to each other, an amazing group of people

Hi there Mom2Lucy,
I had my first TKR almost two years ago and I read everything I could on this website!! Truly so helpful!! In exactly a week I am having knee two replaced and guess what...even though I have been through it and it all went really well-I am getting nervous too!! I think it is normal and natural to get nervous before any surgery. To reduce my anxiety I am reading the posts here! It really helps to feel connected- so many good ideas!! Trying to focus on my blessings. Journaling. Making sure I have all my ducks in a row before surgery; magazines, movies, rides, visitors lined up, walker ready, pt appointment scheduled, etc. I even got my hair and nails done though I won’t be out and about for weeks!! It just makes me feel good. I’m letting people around me - husband, family, etc. know that I need some extra TLC right now and just trying to be gentle with myself. Sometimes easier said than done but doing my best and that’s good enough. I hope you can find some peace too. We deserve space to feel nervous, maybe grieve a little bit and just get ready! I hope all goes beautifully for you!!
