I was a church last week--setting some things up and, of course, in a rush. I ran out to my car, tripped over the little thingie in the ground that they use to keep the hose in place. I continued forward for a few paces, hoping that I would manage to regain my balance, but finally, gave up and let myself roll!!! I landed splat and then rolled over twice before the final splat!!!!

Luckily I had on capri pants and not a skirt!!! I managed to pick myself up and several people helped me to get all the dirt and mulch off!!!!

I was standing there nervously laughing, when finally someone said--Uh, how is your knee? these were the same women who saw a friend who was three months out from a tkr break her femur in a fall. I was lucky--I guess I was moving so fast that the roll helped. 'But, I do think that when you are going to fall you should just relax and let yourself go---that way you don't break an arm or something trying to save yourself.

I certainly hope that the dignity of old age happens soon and I don't have to worry about tripping over my own two feet!!! Kelly

Phew!!! That must've been terrifying! Thanl goodness ot was only your ego that was bruised! It could've been so much worse!!!!! It's a good thing you were in church! G-d was watching out for you!!! (:)0)

Oh, Kelly....I'm so thankful you didn't really hurt yourself badly. But I bet you have some sore spots!!! Not just your dignity! We all have an "event" like yours, so you're not alone. I'm just glad you didn't get hurt. Be careful!!!

Kelly, I am so glad your knee and everything else is o.k. Please be careful !!!

Kelly,
Good recovery! Sorry you had to experience a fall, but glad you didn't hurt yourself badly. Welcome to the club! When I fell in the road it took me a good week to have my knee caps stop stinging. It took me a while to have the scabs heal and to know my implants were OK, just gave my knee caps a good test........
Glad there were people around to help you up!

Glad you came out of that experience unscathed. It's funny, but lately I have been very conscious of the possibility of tripping up but it's the 'good' knee that's making me think it, not the TKR knee. Scareee!

Kelly I do a good fall every year or so it seems. Somehow I have never serioiusly hurt anything that i know of.
You are not alone. So glad yuo are not injured. I know that feeling of catching yourself, then loosing it.
judy

Kelly,
I was holding my breath as I read your story!!! I was glad to be able to exhale
and smile when I got to the end. I am so glad that you are ok!!! Remember you are like a butterfly to me!!!!

Whew! I'm glad the only thing damaged was your dignity!

The roll is a good idea.

Roll with it... I learned that from my son's martial arts training.
