They're baaack.....The pain, the tears, the fears. The sleepless nights, trying to find a comfortable spot, but I made it. Happy I only have 2 knees. Can't imagine anyone having both knees done at same time. Mine are 6months apart and I think that is close but I couldn't take it any longer.

Both surgeries were totally different. The first one was much easier, the second I had nausea and fever. But am getting stronger everyday and beginning to enjoy the first knee more. The hardest part is finding comfort sleeping, but I'm done.

God has blessed me with a DH who never complains and is always there. Good luck to all that are going thru the same thing.

Don't tell my Other Knee-in-Waiting that... it might never get done ! :shk:

Very pleased to see you on the other side again. Only one way to go now and that is UP ! :thmb:

One NZer..Didn't mean to scare you, but these forums are what gave me the courage to not wait and get the other one done. I was so scared till I found this group. I read every post to get as much info as I could. It took me about four months.

Plus I got a 2 for one by getting it done while my deductible was met. So we thought go for it. I have no regrets. I kept a journal to see when I took my meds, had BM's, felt melancoly etc., and am keeping one now. Funny how sometime you go "did I take my pain pills yet?" and now I know.

WTG Rhonda, good luck for a speedy and relatively pain free recovery, and welcome to the bi club. :shk:. LOL.

Good Luck Rhonda with your recovery. Hopefully soon you'll find that happy spot when trying to sleep. I had both done at the same time and I remember at first thinking how in the world will I sleep...I'm a tummy sleeper and was stuck on my back sleeping but it all worked out!

You'll get there - just keep on keeping on! You know you can do it!

Glad you are on this side now! I know my other knee will need replacing at some point ... but right now (6 weeks out from first) I can't even begin to think about it.
I had trouble getting comfortable enough to sleep, too. Wound up sleeping in the recliner in our bedroom - leg propped up on a comfy pillow. It's the only way I could sleep more than 30 minutes at a time. I still wind up there on the nights that I overdo it during the day. Good luck!

Rhonda! The worst is over now! Just take your time recuping! You'll get there!!!! (:)0)

Yep, those first weeks can be a challenge. But the good news is things get BETTER.....not worse as they did before the surgery. Hang in there and you'll see the progress you're looking for.
