Got Mom out of rehab today and brought her home. They were treating her for 2 bed sores. Guess what there are 3 not 2. Another example of great care. Her hip looks like it has a lump on it. It is so big that one leg of her pants is shorter than the other. The hip looks deformed....so at 9:00AM I am calling Ortho office and demanding an appointment. The visiting nurse and or P.T. is coming tomorrow. I need to know if I am doing the bed sore stuff correctly. I hope she doesn't have the hematoma back again. Wow I never thought we were in for all this. Maybe because she has type 2 diabetes. And to top it off my 8 yr old is up in bed and I think he is getting the flu. I have lysoled the whole house, doorknobs, countertops, light switches you name it. I can't afford to get sick because I am the cook, mom, full time worker and nurse. Ahhhhhhhh

I take it you mean around the incision site, Leanne?

If so, given the history, it is not unexpected that the hip would be out of shape. There will be swelling and excess scar tissue It will most likely reduce over time but is unlikely to ever be a normal shape again, I would think. But I would hope I am wrong.
