I had my 6 week checkup yesterday at the hospital where my LTKR was done on Aug 11. They took x-rays of the knee (got to bring home photos showing the beast). Everything seems to be OK except that I am having trouble with ROM. I didn't quite make 90 degrees during the examination (no warm-up exercises to help).
The physiotherapist and the surgeon both recommended more aggressive PT on the ROM and less on the muscle rebuilding at this point.
Although Canadians in general have good government paid medical coverage, we have a strange health system here in the province of Ontario, Canada. The government has spent millions reducing wait times for knee and hip replacement surgery but nothing on government funded PT. Patients either have insurance or are forced to pay for better service.
So now since I am retired and do not have supplemental insurance coverage, I am looking at out of pocket costs for better PT.
I do appreciate all those posting on their experiences with KR. It really helps on those days where things aren't going as well as we had hoped.
