I just got back from the OS and I do not have to go back for three years. He was amazed by my recovery I can bend my knee about 180 i can touch my butt. He told me that not many people get past 120 he said he wanted to put me out front as the poster person for TKRs. I truly only had eight sessions of pt and that was it. I did go into the pool everyday in the summer and exercise but I was not that faithful with my exercising my quads are strong and back to normal. I can do everything I couldn't do last year. I decorated myself and that was going up and down the cellar steps with boxes and climbing on chairs. I can run up and down stairs no problem and I even went sledding with the kids. I played in the snow with the kids and had a blast it is so nice to have my life back. It is to the point that I have forgotten that I had a TKR My husband has to remind me to be careful on the ice because I forget.I am happy I had this done and glad it is over. I have my life back and it feels great. I can finally walk my regular exercise walk with no pain and even push the carriage without pain. I can go as far and fast as I did before I had my TKR. This board was very helpful to me I am happy I found it. Thanks for all the help and information. I will keep reading the posts and wish everyone that is waiting for a TKR or has had a TKR good luck and a speedy recovery. Merry Christmas and a Very Happy Healthy New Year to everyone. Lyn

Lyn, what an inspiring post. I sure hope the new knees read it as they need to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am positively thrilled that you are doing so well and I am sure your family is glad to have you back, you sound like you are a lot of fun. Take care of yourself and don't forget to post here so that others can see what it can be like after you have the surgery. That is the reason, although not the only one, that keeps me posting here. It is very important for the people yet to have the surgery or who have just had it and are having a tough time to see the end result. You are a model for anyone to aspire to. Continued good luck, Rowdy

Lyn... I loved reading your post. I'll be 3 months post-op the end of December. My PT told me by 3 months I would be glad I did the surgery... they were right. I can't wait to find out how I'll feel at 6 months!

I cant wait to ski next winter and just enjoy life this spring (I feel feel a bit safer outdoors when our snow and ice leave us!). Dear Miss Cheer,
Do you have any tips for getting that 180? I really want to get back to that myself. Am at 140 or so now, 5 months post-op.
Thanks for your post. It's great to know what's possible.
