United States@diane71 Way back when I was just out of college (1970), I got a job at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. They had a hypnotherapist on staff and were using hypnotherapy for anesthesia for some surgeries (mostly minor ones). I hear this person give a lecture on it and he said that it was very helpful particularly for patients who had had adverse reactions to anesthesia or had other medical conditions that made using general anesthesia dangerous.
