I now have full ROM and have been released to proceed to do more exercise or not.
As I've already posted I had some problems having to do with my extreme hypersensitivity to pain meds. So many pain meds make me uncomfortably "hyper", Vicodin, Darvocet,Celebrex, all NSAIDS.
This surgery they gave me Ultram (Tramadol) and Percocet (Oxycodone) which worked sort of OK at first, not powerful pain relief, but after 5 weeks I was unable to sleep when I took them. I googled these and they are known for causing insomnia, so I stopped taking them. Then have been going through a withdrawal period with nausea, diarehha, fatigue.
Bottom line is I can't do big increases in my exercise program because that
brings on some fairly big pain in the evenings and I have no pain meds. So I
will have to be content with a modest exercise program of about 10 minutes on the stationary bike and various leg raises and crunches. I'm hoping in a couple weeks my healing will have progressed to the point that I don't get so much pain at night.
At least with this quad sparing surgery I don't have to exert a lot of
formidable PT and exercise.
