First, I hope I am doing this correctly you know about the thread? if not I am sure it will be brought to my attention. But anyway, I am actually amazed of how good I feel considering that it has only been 5 days from my surgery. I am using a walker but last night I forgot and walked several steps to my closet and left the walker behind.:shk: When I realized that I slowly went back and got it.:hehe: I have some pain but its more like soreness on my hip, around my hip but also on my arms, I guess from using the walker. I also have soreness on my unoperated leg since I have putting most of the work on that one. Getting in and out of bed is getting easier every day. My main problem is still getting good sleep; and that is because I am a side sleeper and my back is killing me since I already suffered from chronic lower back pain. Well last night it was so bad I decided to take a Xanax ....guess what? I got some good and needed sleep thank God!!! and for my surgery pain I am taking Darvocet but only as needed. I was not giving any other meds at the hospital you know like blood thinners? but I have my post op appt with my OS doctor this afternoon and will check with him. My incision looks pretty good to me so I hope all is good news with my doctor. Thank you to all of you beautiful people on this forum. I could not have done this without all the great input and support from all of you guys!

Hello Judy how are you?? well so far its good news, the incision is healing well, and man its a big one isn't? have another appt with him next week he may remove the stitches then and I am supossed to start PT at home next week as well. I asked my doctor I wanted stitches, on my previous surgeries I had the staples and the other time they also used the surgical glue?? not good for me both times I developed a nasty reaction on my skin plus an infection...both times I had to have wound care for a couple of months after the surgery. Its funny how through those surgeries we get to know more about our own bodies ha? But all is good, thank you so much for your sweet and supportive input! Hi Spirit!

Congrats on your new hip! I haven't seen your previous posts, but you seem to be doing well. What part of the US are you from?

You are not taking Xanax with Darvocet, are you? Be careful there! No blood thinners? I wonder why.

I hope you have a smooth recovery like i did. The back sleeping was my lease favorite thing about recovery too! It was 6 weeks for me.
