Hi everyone,

I saw the OS today, great news, he said my leg was very straight, xrays great, flex good too, (it's up to 110 at least, I was a bit stiff from the drive), he said I was walking very well, even said "spritely". Scar good too. Woohoo!

All in all he was very happy. So was I.

Hope all's well in your part of the world and life is being good to you!

Chris :)

really cool, chris! Onward and upward as we used to say in school!! Walking "spritely". I like that!

Hey Chris - Thanks for posting the good news. So happy for you. YEAH!

Hope

Chris that is so good for me to hear! I'm a newbie, and nervous as heck about upcoming total knee replacement (left). It is great to hear about your positive results.
Donna

Hi Donna - I'm just at 6 weeks post-op after my left TKR. I'm doing so well that my "old" knee is hurting more than my "new" one already. I've scheduled my right for 6/8 so I can be in-step (ha). This is a great site but I remember that all the postings can be a little overwhelming and scary. Don't let it get to you. This decision was the best. I'm so glad to have it done. Each week it gets better and better. Don't forget to do your pre-surgery exercises, and get plenty of rest now so you can enjoy the new you. My best to you.

Hope

Donna I was really scared to before my RTKR Jan. 21. Most of what I read here and everywhere seemed to indicate it would be a terrible, difficult experience. But everything went very well for me and i never had any real pain, thanks to my surgeon and the hospital's excellent pain management. And the recovery wasn't all that difficult but I did all my exercises religiously. I made my job my recovery for the first 2 months. And as Hope says -- do those exercises BEFORE your surgery to help build up your muscles. It will make a huge difference when you take that first step in in your early recovery days. Plus you'll be comfortable with the exercises and the post operative process won't seem so daunting. if you trust your surgeon's ability -- just try to relax and let the medical folks do their work. Hard to give up that control but you have to do it. But first you might ask your surgeon and the hospital people about the pain management protocols. Not having pain makes all the difference in getting you moving quickly. good luck and keep posting!

Thanks everyone,

Hi Donna, I don't blame you being nervous, it's perfectly natural. No one will tell you it's easy, but knowing this is how good I feel only 4 1/2 months down the track, I would have no hesitation going back for my second knee when the time comes. Best wishes to you and keep your eye on the goal of being pain free.

Hey lady How are ya! Missed you guys. Just checking in thanks for all the posts. When I see how far you have come and where you are you are an insiration. I hope to follow. Just wanted to say hey...............Kim

Hi Kim,

All is well in my part of the world. We have been having beautiful Autumn days, very sunny and warm, however the nights are chilly, but I'm loving my electric blanket. Hoping the expected rain stays away tomorrow so we can go on our usual Mother's Day picnic, with Mum, Dad, brothers, their families, My Kids, daughter in law, grandkids. Always a fun day to get together. Bound to be so much nicer now I can walk without grimacing :)

It was strange to see this post come to life again, I'm 6 weeks along from when I first started it, coming up to the 6 month mark. Things just keep getting better, Woohoo and I do feel great. Saw my GP yesterday just so she could tell me my cholesterol was up, and I told her too just how fantastic my knee was. I'll tell anyone who'll listen. :)

I was so happy to hear you had a good result and posted in your thread. Best wishes to you Kim.

Chris,
Just keep charging along. It only gets better with time. It seems like at six months the recovery the knee took a big jump forward. Same at the one year mark.
We have jumped to summer weather here in Tallahassee. Temp in the 90's and high humidity. We are heading out to go fishing and see if we can catch supper for tonight so you guys have a good day.

Thanks Doug,

Good luck with the fishing, love the avatar actually lol when I saw it.

I know what you mean just when you think gee I feel great and think that's it, somehow it just gets better, can't wait to see what the next 6 months holds for me. Look out world!
