31/2 weeks rtkr update

I am off pain meds, only ibuprofen for the ankle swelling. I sleep really well. My Pt is coming along ahead of schedule. I seldom use my cane and still have my 37 staples. A positive attitude before surgery and during recovery does help. Thanks for all the caring tkr people!!!

Hey Night, I am glad you are doing so well. Your right abut the attitude. Hope you stay on the same path your on....That will be real nice when you get the staples out. ....Really at 3 1/2 weeks thats so fantastic....keep us posted. When do you get the staples out? Im a knee but is 37 alot.

It does seem a bit odd to have the staples still in after 3 1/2 weeks....has anyone told you why? But it certainly sounds like you're doing GREAT!!!!! Keep it up!!

Shades sounds like your doing great. Keep up the PT, I told my PT the other day. As he was about to kill me, (this is just pure sexual pleasure.) He about died from laughing and said, we need to make this more painful. He was just joking but I'm now at 117 rom and starting 4weeks post op. Get the staples out it helps a whole lot.

Sounds like everything is going good for you. But I too am interested in why you still have staples??

I had my staples out (48 of them) exactly 2 weeks after my LTKR. I was amazed at how quickly the incision had healed. It did help a lot to have them out, because it eased up on the tightness. I would have them out soon if I were you, because the skin will start to grow over them, which makes it a bit more painful to have them out. I had minimal discomfort when mine were taken out. Some of them I didn't feel at all!

I get the staples removed the 20th. I am so glad to hear that it will ease the tightness some. They have been my security during PT as I was sure my incision would burst and new knee would be all over the place !!!
