I can't believe it has been 3 months. I saw my doc yesterday. The most exciting thing for me was freedom to hike!!! I was actually smart today and went slowly and only up to a spot called First Water. I also used a hiking pole (they are very popular these days)
It went great as far as my hip was concerned!! Couldn't tell I had a hip in there!! My stamina was great (probably thanks to swimming the last 6 weeks)
Life is Good
At the apt. my doc told me my range of motion was awesome. No pain with anything he did.
I can head to the gym and use the machines again.
I still have a quad muscle that is sooo much smaller and weaker than the other leg. Also glute muscle that is way smaller. Still ITBand discomfort. The muscles do cause pain at times. He told me once those muscles get to the same size as the left leg, the discomfort should be gone. He also mentioned that will take a very long time.
I have endocrine issues and when my growth hormone is out of line and cortisol too they turn muscle to fat!!!!
Then we switched the conversation to my right knee. Some intermittent severe stabbing pain. Same thing that was happening with my hip.
So an MRI this week on the knee. I am not sure where this is going and try not to think about it. Of course strengthening the quad muscle will help the knee.
I am still taking percocet in the am. Most days I take it in the late afternoon as well. It is really a combo and prescribed by my spine surgeon. Right now I have knee, shoulder and spine pain , the hip is the least problomatic.
I would say at 3 months. I am cured!!!!! It is pretty amazing to me eveytime I think about it.
