That’s funny “pop” back! My hip was certainly popped back in! Did it twice darn! I’m laying here with a knee immobilizer on. Here‘s the question: what’s are some hip revision success stories? I realize I am more at risk for dislocations and NO THANK YOU I’d much rather a replacement if the stability would be similar to what I have? Thanks for reading.

In re-reading my posts... I realized I forgot to mention my surgeon says my reverse shoulder is doing fine. A few steps forward... Arthritis sucks!

@calminsf if you go to the hip recovery area and look for the blue Revision THR subtitle in front of the thread title you will find several revision stories.

If you are thinking about a revision please find a revision specialist. If you need help let use know. You will need someone who can address that stability issue.

Dear Bone people, Yesterday I dislocated my hip for the 3rd time In three months. It’s impossible to type that sentence and not recall the intense pain that goes along with being dislocated. My ortho doc said after 3 times I get to have a new hip. Aug. 18 th. Any hip revision upbeat success stories? Which joint or joints do y’all think are the most challenging to go through replacement surgery for? My vote would be knees.

@calminsf .... I'm so sorry to hear you've had to endure three dislocations, but happy to hear you are going to get this fixed. Hip revisions are very successful and we have plenty of threads in the hip recovery forum for you to read. Just go to the index page for Hip Recovery, find a thread with REVISION as the prefix, click on that prefix in the index list and you'll get a whole page or more of threads.

It would be best of you start a thread for your upcoming hip revision in the Hip Pre-op forum. You'll get many more responses there than here in the shoulder forum.

Best of luck to you and I'll be looking forward to hearing how you're doing. Go easy on that hip in these weeks leading up to surgery. If it's any consolation, I agree with you that hips are an easier recovery than knees....even hip revisions.
