My hands are an orthopedic mess due to congenital camptodactyly in all of my fingers and thumbs.

I've had 6 surgeries, 5 of them being before I was 14. My most recent surgery was a right pinky PIP joint fusion on March 17, 2017.

My joint fusion took almost 18 months to make full fusion, and 12 weeks to make basic fibrous fusion. It should have taken 6-8 weeks for bony fusion(this is something that worries me about my hip replacement)

I was splinted in an aquaplast and Velcro splint for 12 weeks and had a 1lb weight resistriction for 6 months.

As it stands, my surgeon is watching because he wants to remove the plate because even the smallest screws go all the way through the bone.

Oh what a struggle for you. But not uncommon as the digits of a camptodactyly hand are by nature, very small.
