Feel free post your surgery date in this thread, and I will add you to the list. Start a thread of your own in the Pre-Op Knee Section to post comments and share your journey toward knee replacement.

We want to share your journey with you so please start a thread of your own.To start a new thread, hover your mouse over "Knee" on the blue line at the top of the page for the drop down menu.Click on either the "Pre Op" forum. On the upper right hand side under the "Joint Replacement Awareness Day" banner, you will see a black rectangle with the words "Post New Thread" in white. Click on this, enter whatever title you want for your thread, but do try to keep it short and sweet, then tab down to the dialogue box and start typing your post which can be as long as you need for it to be.

By starting your own thread, you and your questions and concerns will receive the attention they deserve.

For additional help, look in the white heading under the blue, click on "Help & Info", then click on "How to Use This Forum". Lots of info there to help you navigate the forum.

I'm scheduled!! Feb 4th is my date with Dr. Chow.
I had an awesome consultation with him. 100% confidence in him and his procedure "Superpath". Can't wait to put this pain behind me and be able to tie my shoe normally and stop limping and and and...

Can't wait for Feb! My hip must somehow know it's painful, tortuous days are numbered! It's been a real pain-in-the-hip lately!
What will I be like w/o nearly constantly having hip pain on my mind!?

February 25th, 2019, left hip THR. Just found out a few hours ago and stumbled onto this site trying to read about hip replacements. Please excuse some of my ignorant questions. I thought I had a back problem and they just told me they measure hip issues as mild, moderate and severe, then he said he'd classify me as very severe and would work me

Right THR scheduled Feb. 28th but I found this site when I had my left THR in June of 2014. Boy does this site really help getting through both pre-op and post-op stages. I'm not so sure I could have made it through my first one without all of the help here. Diagnosed with OA in 2007 and have stupidly winged it until both hips were bone on bone. Be smart, don't wait! I found reading the post-op forums were also extremely helpful before my first surgery. Glad to find so many hippie hipsters here!

My first,TRHR is scheduled for February 8. I found this site in a Adult Hip Dysplasia Facebook Page. OMG there seems to be so much great stuff on here! It’s so glad I found it and can’t wait to read, read, read! I’m 47 and I was diagnosed 4 years ago with bilateral hip dysplasia. I’ve had one surgery on my right hip to repair my labrum two years ago. It Didnt last long before the pain came back. Had I seen Dr Ellis, my hip specialist then I don’t think he would’ve recommended the surgery. A hip replacement is the only thing that will resolve my problem.

I had my first total right hip replacement on 11/19/18 at Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr Amar Ranawat. My progress was great the first 2 weeks then my I repaired left hip began to hurt more and more. I became depressed and anxious and scheduled a left total hip replacement for February 5, 2019 with the same doctor. I felt cursed and the pain grew worse. I started a post op thread on this site 2 days ago asking for help and sharing my fears between surgeries. I got so much support, good advice and caring. The cursed feeling has lifted; I am not alone and I am eager to proceed. So I am delighted to be celebrating my second total hip replacement with this fellowship. I didn’t use this site during my first hip replacement because I was oblivious that I would need support. I have learned a lot!!! Pain and fear are more manageable when giving and getting support.
