Hi all...this board was a real God send last January when I had my LTKR. On the 21st of this January I had my RTKR and feel good. Range of motion is much better on this knee, but I had expected as much. My left was my 7th operation on that knee so there was a lot of scar tissue. A year later, totally straight and my flexion is around 115, but no pain, no swelling so I'm very happy.

For this one, RTKR, I'm almost totally straight, and my flexion is around 95 degrees. Still have black and blue ankle and that lovely shade of yellow running up my calf. They took out 10 staples while I was in rehab and the other 10 come out on Friday. Pain has been managed well with oxy every twelve days and the usual perc's every 4-6 hours as needed ( but I'm only taking one, not the two).

Have a Zimmer, but not the ladies. This time my doctor ( the best in the world) used a drain and that seemed to work well. They were able to give me back my own blood but didn't need anymore in addition to that.

No PT today but I'll do some stretching on the bike later today.

Other than that, another good experience. Can't wait to be pain free!

Welcome back, NewKnee!! I also have a Zimmer (not the smaller "ladies" version). So glad this surgery is going so well! You'll be back to normal in no time!!!

Good for you Newknee! I had my left done on Jan 20 and also am pleased with the results thus far! I have the De Puy Rotating Platform knee, in both knees now. I guess they're all good as long as your surgeon knows what to do with them! Are you doing Lovenov injections? I am 2x per day, for 4 weeks! :( Hate that part! Anyway, good Luck and Keep improving!

it's an injection you give yourself 2x daily to discourage blood clots! That is the worst part of it all for me!

Glad you are doing so well. It wan't be very long before you can enjoy your new knee to the fullest. Keep up the PT.

Good LUCK!

all I'm taking is the enteric coated aspirin for clots. Other than that, I do a lot of ankle pumps which they say helps.

Well, you're lucky...these injections are the pitts (literally!) I have a history of a blood clot a few years ago so my OS is particularly diligent with me. Even so, he makes all his joint replacement patients do the Lovenox injections for at least 2 weeks...I'm so special though that I get to do it for 4 weeks! Two more weeks to go and counting...
