I agree!
@Rockgirl4, your plans sound wonderful. And you get to design your bathrooms!
When we searched for our present home, we knew we wanted one story. No stairs. Room to walk around indoors.
We also wanted a guest room big enough for a king, w an ensuite bath close to the bed that could be used as a second master should one of us be sick/injured and needed to be very close to the bathroom, or the caretaker needed to sleep in another room to stay healthy (and sane).
We also wanted a master bedroom big enough to have a sitting area and to have a view. If you are confined for awhile, you appreciate these.
And it had to have a private, large yard (when we are healthy, we do not want to see or hear other people, and feel that way x 1000 if not feeling well. Make that x1,000,000.)
And a pool. My knee and shoulder incisions are healed, but the shoulder is still quite vulnerable, and the sprained leg ligament needs a bit more time, as I need to be just a bit steadier to start walking in the pool. And practicing stairs in the water. No swimming yet because of the shoulder.
We were going to have the pool resurfaced next winter (LOL I don’t swim much in the dead of our nippy Florida winter). My husband suggested moving it to now since I couldn’t use it for awhile. Great idea actually as watching it was a diversion for me. Huge additional oversight task for him (but not a surgery recovery topic). Started in June. Just finishing up. Also converted it to saltwater, which is better for our muscles, tendons, skin, etc.
Keep us posted on your plans.
