I'm monopolizing this forum today with my questions but it's been a bad couple of days. I am indebted to each of you for your kindness and feedback.
I had my first MUA 16 days ago and got to 90 degrees of flexion. Today I am minus 5 degrees of extension and 98 degrees of flexion per PT. This is way to slow for me and my life. Do they ever do a second MUA?:sct:

Healing is not a choice, it's a natural process you have to go through, like it or not. 16 days after an MUA you still have swelling and stiffness and unless you are careful, you'll undo what you've had done! This process isn't a small window of opportunity either. You can take 2-4 weeks for it to settle down before you can really get stuck in.

IOW - second MUAs are rarely done and if they are, they usually about 6-8 months after the first one!

So, having got that off me chest - are you taking pain meds, icing and elevating lots? You'll not get the swelling down else.

Dont worry Shelly i did the same thing its ok.......i did have a second MUA and it worked just fine......I dont know if you need that your still pretty early and i think if your progressing at all then just keep working on it............best of luck post anytime............)

Shelly...don't feel bad about posting. That's what everybody is here for. If we didn't post we wouldn't have this great forum!!! So just ice and elevate and try to relax. ROM will come in time.

Shelly, hon....you need to be good to yourself. Slow down and let your body do its job. You just can't rush the healing. Your system will do it in its own time and pushing harder will just delay it. Chill.....breathe.....rest......ice....elevate....and take pain meds. Focus on the good things that have happened so far in your recovery.
