I just did 2.5 minutes of full pedaling on my exercise bike! I cannot TELL you how excited I am about this! I couldn't ride my bike BEFORE surgery, even with the seat so far back that I couldn't reach the pedals on full extension, I still couldn't get my knee bent enough to pedal.

Plus, the PT told me today (after I got ROM measurements of 6 and 95! whoo hoo!) that I can walk without crutches unless I intend to do a LOT of walking (like around a grocery store). But, around home, I can walk unassisted!

I'm just so excited!

Good for you! Those are BOTH such HUGE milestones! Keep up the hard work and you will keep making progress. Life is good with these new knees--- sounds like you are already better off than before!
Congratulations!

Great for you...Next we'll see you signed up for the Tour de France.....
I can vividly remember getting the pedals around for the first time....

Kimgrif,

Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic!!!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel. I finally got the wheels to go around yesterday. Keep up the great work and remember we can do anything. When my children were young they would now and then say " Dad, I can't do it" I would remind them that we are amerICANS not amerICAN'TS.

God Bless,
Rick

Way to go!!! It's so great to be able to share that feeling with others who have been or will be in your shoes!! It's such a remarkable feeling and a huge success!!! Remember this feeling!

AWESOME!!!! Sending the HAPPY DANCE from Alaska your way~~~~~ Keep up the pedaling. I still have to work on the right "bun" coming slightly off the seat when I pedal but - this too will come. Keep on bending!!!!!

Congrats!

[Bonesmart.org] 2.5 minutes!

It is amazing how exciting it is when the pedals go all the way around. I think the MOST exciting thing for me was even before the pedals. I was thrilled when I could lift my operated leg into bed without using anything to support it. That made me feel like I was finally in control of myself again.

Congratulations on your pedaling milestone! These positive things help to convince us that we really ARE moving forward. Keep working and you'll be reporting many more "firsts" with your new knee.

Kimgrif,
Way to go! All that work and you are getting there! Each day you will start to see a small change. Suddenly, you find things are easier. Much easier!
I thought it was great when I finally got rid of my high rise toilet seat and the shower seat. To stand and take a shower was heaven.
Small steps lead to big gains. I am still working on my cycle stamina. I have upped the resistance and think I will be better off upping my length of time rather than the resistance. I am at 20 minutes @ level 2 and I guess I should push it to 30 minutes at level 1.
Keep up the good work!
Best,
Crystal
