I haven't been on this site for a few weeks and I have missed you all. You always are such a good support. Thank you for being there for me. My left knee is doing good and my foot-ankle problems have improved too. I'm ready to go for #2 knee on Monday. I contacted a new physical therapist and hope for a better outcome with my foot this time.

I also wanted to let you know that my husband survived a sudden cartiac arrest two weeks ago. They found it to be an electrical problem and he now has a defibulator. Boy what a scare, but he is doing very well now. NEVER HESTIATE TO CALL EMERGENCY IMMEDIATELY. IT SAVED HIS LIFE.

The doctors said to go ahead with my knee surgery and not to postpone it. Bless my sister in law ..she is coming again to help out. So bless the Lord. On Tuesday 6/2, we celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary.

I will have new knees and he will have an improved ticker. Watch out 2010, here we come. Thanks for your support and prayers.

Hope:wink:

Ohh Hope,
You have really had a time of it!! Happy 36th Anniversary!! Wow just think when you get your Right Knee done there will be no stoping you two!!! You had better not forget about us!! Lets us hear all a bout everything. I will be here waiting for a update on
everything.

Hiya, Hope! Good to see you again. Not so good to hear about your hubbie though. My BIL had a similar experience last October and is fine now. He had stents put in, in his case. Those little defibrillators are great - like having your own paramedic on hand 24/7! Congrats on the anniversary.

All the best for your second go on Monday. Keep us posted, won't you?

Wow! Hope!!! Looks ike you and your hubby got the BEST gift of ALL.......each other! So glad you are both feeling better! Wishing you both good health from now on!!! :). And many more happy and healthy anniversaries!!!!! :)

My, Hope.....no wonder you haven't had time to be on the forum!! God bless you, hon, you deserve to have things calm down for a while! But.....noooo.....you're gonna go for that second knee. What a woman. Good for you. Once it's done, you and sweet hubby can start planning some fun for the next 36 years you have together!

Hope,
I am glad you are going ahead with the second TKR. You will be happy after it is done and you are on the road to recovery. I am sorry to hear your dh had a cardiac arrest...... It is truly scary. My dh had an incident the day my Baker's Cyst ruptured. He had to have 3 angioplasties and 2 stents put in. They do not put a stent in on a curve, so, only 2. That was 2 years ago. He has been taking Plavix and will be on it the rest of his life. He has been doing great! He works full time at a 40 hour/week job as a Property Manager of a 108 apartment complex, umpires baseball games during the HS Baseball Varsity Season, Trains apprentice umpires between Feburary and June, and is a Professional Ski Instructor of America Level 3 (highest) trainer of ski instuctors between November and April. One busy guy! So, hopefully, your dh will recover just fine and you will do well with this second TKR since you are experienced from the first. I wish you well on this new journey!
Best,

Hope --- the best of luck with the second TKR next week. What a scary couple of weeks you've had with your husband. But I'm really glad he's OK now. Once you get this second knee working again --- the two of you will have some really great times together!!! Let us know how things are going ..... You will know what to expect this time so it should be easier....

Dear Hope,
I will be thinking and praying for a speedy recovery from your second TKR.
You have been through so much stress, just be sure to take good care of yourself. I hope your DH is getting better every day.
I am in my third week post LTKR. Finally starting to feel better.
Best wishes,
Kathy

Hope--
Best of luck on Monday. You and hubby have had a lot on your plate, but it sounds like you're a good team.

Hope,Happy Anniversary and my prayers are with you and your husband recovery!!

Thanks all for your encouraging words. I read them to my hubby and it was a great pick me up for us both. I will keep you posted as soon as I can sit at my desk again. (no laptop for me) I'm off to church now. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Wow - almost at 2 weeks post op for knee #2. If you recall, I had lots of stress problems with my foot last time and it showed up again. All black and blue around edge of foot. My home PT was right on it this time and we've got the swelling well in control. I've been keeping off it right away - not much walking for me yet. Lots of sitting with foot up and ice on heel again. Knee #2 healing is real good again ROM 95 and 2 degrees. We have been doing non-weight bearing exercises. My pain seems harder this time but its coming along. Staples out tomorrow on day 14 already.

Also, all is well with hubby too. He has been terrific waiting on me all the time, but I make sure he gets a long nap every day. His dr says he is a-ok and he starts back to work again tomorrow. It is still difficult to sit at my desk for the computer to post my notes. Thanks for all your good wishes. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers. Hope all is going well with you folks.

Hope, it's so wonderful to hear from you and know you are doing okay. Your ROM is fantastic. Hopefully the other problems will subside soon and you can begin weight bearing exercise. Thank goodness you and your PT know exactly what is going on this time around.

Hi Jamie - nice to be in touch again. I'm having one of those late afternoon blue moments. Hubby and daughter ran out to get another movie for us to watch (for father's day). We need to treat foot like an ankle sprain so I've got another week of being "off-feet" still. I'm really doing so well with ROM etc so I needed a little pick up again. Just wanted to reach out and say hi to my nice friends here. Have a great day.

Glad to hear you are doing better with the second knee and your hubby is doing fine. May God Bless you and your family.

You are right 2010 look out for you and hubby you will be normal again and not on the mend.

Keep on going you are doing so good.

Take it easy, Hope! Sending positive thoughts your way today!

I had my staples removed today. All went well but I was really uptight about it and more anxious then first time. For some reason, I expected it to really hurt this time cuz it went so well last time. I timed my perc for 1 hour before and it didn't hurt much at all. So for all you out there dreading the big "staple-out" day ...don't sweat it. (foot is progressing well too)

Good to hear that both knees are now on the way to recovery. I hope that you will find that the latest one will be less of a problem - that is what I found, anyway!

Your new life is just round the corner. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
