Am doing pretty good except for the tendon sorness. Not sure if I'm doing to much or what. I have been back at work for 4 weeks now. Tryed playing golf but that really aggravated the tendons particularly the front right . Otherwise am doing pretty good. Anyone else with these problems?

I 2nd me too...Sorry Im sure that will go away...Hang in there.....Just think you will be so much better at golf when this is done....Post anytime...Good lUck...

Slader, the type of pain you are describing is very common. You are still at an early stage of recovery and as you increase your activity level, you are bound to have some aches and pains here and there. If it gets bad enough, ice and elevate and take an NSAID for inflammation (Aleve, Advil, Motrin, Tylenol). You'll be back on the golf course soon though!! Hang in there.

GOLF??????? A good, long walk spoiled!!! You've got to take it EASY!!!! :)

Slader,

Take it easy...easier said then done.

Yes, when I overdo it, the tendons feel like they have been overstretched. Even hard to get into bed. Leg feels like it weighs a ton. Sometimes have to have help lifting the leg.

Fortunately, after I rest, elevate and ice, it feels better. Sometimes I have to take a pain pill. Ibuprophen still isn't helping yet. Doesn't give any relief. Hate that I have to depend on the stronger stuff to make a difference. Don't like taking them, certainly don't want to get addicted.

Do you have a sit down job? Sometimes sitting too long causes pain and discomfort. Surely is the cause of stiffness.

Rest more often. Again easier said then done!

Blessings,

Most of the pain I experienced in the first four weeks post surgery was with my quadracept and tendons....actually had very little pain in the joint initially. Prior to the surgery the arthriits had progressed such that my flex and extension were greatly reduced and consequently over the years my quadracept severely atrophied. My doctor was not even sure how much range of motion I would get post surgery (got to 130 degrees flex and 0 extension). I had to work very hard on stretching the tendons and re-building my quadracept in physical therapy....the surgery was in July 2008 and I continue to work on the quadracept.
