Of course as always, i am the 20 year old Male who had the Total left hip replacement.

6 weeks ago i was 140 pounds. I am back up to 175 and i have been hitting the gym very agressively. I am playing competitive basketball again and doing downhill mountain biking.

Ironically i am in the best shape i have ever been in, (Even before the hip issues 5 years ago).

I post this for one reason, i know i am young...but i believe it is much harder on a young person to deal with this type of surgery, so i do hope to inspire some. Or at least help people who know a younger person who has got a major surgery in their lives.

Keep strong everyone, and know only good things are to come. :D

Hey there, YoungGuy! Good to hear from you and learn that you are doing so well. Keep up the good work and thanks for dropping in.

Hey Young Guy,
You know you always inspire me.....

When you get a chance, go to the Joint Replacement Lifestyles and read my thread...Calling all ex athletes...That would be my son. Headed to Dallas to see what we can do with his back...Josephine explained it well and hopefully everything will be o.k. He lives for weightlifting and this was a big blow to him in a different way than yours. But I know you understand more than anyone. He is still young as you know and I just hope GOOD will come from this...Keep us up on your progress...I am proud of you...Patty

Young Guy-
You are truly motivating to all. 140 to 175 (nothing like home cooking). I got a feeling it's all muscle. God Bless.
