I went for my year check up and xray. I am still having some pain in my thigh especially when I do to much (lifting, walking etc.) My xray showed that I have calcium buildup next to the replacement on the outside. Has anyone else had this happen? My doctor said he can give a cortisone shot if I need it, but he would like to wait and see how I do.

That's what we call osteophytes, outgrowths of bone.

See, the replacement is not a cure for the arthritis, only for the consequences of it. So the disease process is still present and likely to continue throwing up minor problems like this. It's not that uncommon.

Oh **** what an awful thing to have happen to you or any of us. This is one post I wish I didn't read.
The Good, the Bad, The Ugly......

I did say 'minor' problems ...
