I had my surgery on Sept 9th and just wanted to report that I am doing fine. My first TKR was in April of this year so I am happy to say that I am finished. :D Funny how I forgot how painful this was. I do believe the first two weeks are the hardest. At least I am hoping the 3rd week I start feeling better. I started therapy on Monday and am doing very well. I am giving myself the lovenox shots:shk: Even though this is my second round with them, I still get nervous when shot time comes. Only 5 more shots to go :
Just wanted to check in and say I am now totally bionic and thank god:pray:we only have two knees.....

P:S My brother John who also had his second total done on the 9th is doing very well, although his ankle did swell and he did end up going to the hospital for a doppler. Happy to say he is fine with no blood clots. We keep in touch alot since he lives in California and I in Nebraska.
I'll keep reporting on my progress.....God Bless Everyone:wub:...

Jennifer, so glad that you are back home and doing well. You know it will get better each and every day. You'll be back on your feet again soon and so happy to have TWO bionic knees now. Keep us up to date on your progress and best of luck you you....(((((HUGS)))).

Jennifer,

I'm with you....Praise God we only have two knees and he designed a way for us to continue living life to the fullest after the original issues deteriorate!

Like you, I just finished my second one. The pain I well remember, but this second one is so far ahead of the first. Hope yours progresses well too. Hang in there, the first 2 weeks are tough, then it gets better every day.

Blessings,

Good going there! :thmb:

I'm a little over 4 weeks out and I guess I'm a baby, but I still hurt and get depressed. BUT when I look back I can see improvement. My daughter tells me all the time. I have good days and bad days. Today was a bad day. Lots of ice, stretching (painful, but helpful) and moodiness. I talked to a friend of my mother's that had TKR about a month before me, and she was encouraging, so that helped.
Hang in there!

Jennifer
I'm so glad that you are doing so very well! Hang in there and keep up the great work!
I know it's difficult, but you know by now that it's worth it. You and your brother can compare notes and encouragement. I'm so very happy for the both of you! Please keep us informed on how your doing. You know we care!
Blessings Always~~

Beth;
You are Not a baby at all! You know that we all progress at different rates and it takes some of us longer than others. You are only four weeks out and believe me, you have plenty of reason to still be in pain and that alone will make you depressed. Don't give up!
You ARE making progress and everyday will get better. It may be a little at a time, but it gets better none the less. Please let us hear more from you. We do care!
Blessings to you and hang in there!!
Nancyo

Jennifer---so glad that you are home and doing well. I bet you are going to be very happy with both knees done. Early weeks certainly are hard---as you remember. Soon you'll have two strong knees!!!

Beth---as everyone says---all recoveries are different---but each day will become better and better as the weeks and months go by. Hang in there-just as Nancyo said!!
