TKR Scar treatment advice?
Hi, I'm at week 5 of recovery and needing some advice on how to take care of my surgery scar. It is about 5-1/2" long and is still really red along the incision line. I'm wondering if I should be doing something different to promote healing? I've been massaging it with Vitamin E since week 3...- Poof

Why can't we sleep?
It seems to be a common theme among the TKR posts that no one is getting enough sleep. Does that happen with every major surgery? Would you list how far you are out from your surgery and how many hours you sleep straight on an average night? Today is 3 weeks for me and the most I have ever...- Poof

When to take antibiotics?
My LTKR is on Feb 12th. I've gone to the Pre-op class and was told that I would have to take antibiotics for the rest of my life before any dental procedure and before colonoscopies. However, what about Pap smears or simple cuts or abrasions? Since the surgery is getting so cloe, I'm...- Poof
