THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

I'll give it a bit of a try. It doesn't feel like a sciatic nerve thing, however. Ice has been helping this morning. I'm doing my figure four stretch, but it's neither hurting nor helping. The acute pain went away relatively quick in the grand scheme of things, but this morning feels like the...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Yesterday I had a major scare, and I really need some opinions on if what I'm going through is abnormal, as my surgeon is gone, and my primary care physician is gone, so my next step would be a very costly ER visit. It might just be something I need to be more mindful of the rest of my life, or...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

I ended up staying with my current practice... they had the earliest appointment. A month from now. Sheesh!

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Well, I hit the 6 month mark a few days back... things are going pretty well, but certainly not perfect. What really stinks is that I had an appointment with my primary care physician for tomorrow since I can't follow up with my surgeon... and my PCP quit his practice yesterday. Now I have to...

    THR Mako vs traditional THR

I can't speak for the medicare coverage, but I had a Mako assist and was quite happy with it - I'm on an Obamacare/ACA plan and indeed it was covered as part of the full cost of the total surgery. As I mentioned, I was very happy with it - the primary reason being I came out of the surgery...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

My legs are still sore overall but that excruciating knee pain is gone, thankfully. Tomorrow or the next day I'll be able to start using my recumbent bike again, and take some walks.

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

My hip feels great, but unfortunately I messed up my big toe on my surgical side (it was looking bad and then I stubbed it when I got home, think I might lose the toenail)... and most intensely, my non-surgical side knee is KILLING me. I'm talking excruciating, limping pain. I'm a little worried...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Today was Pokémon Go Tour, which means they had 8 hours of activities and special Pokémon available. Lots of walking... my true big test! I played all 8 hours and walked 9.2 miles, never really stopping to sit or anything! Minimal OTC painkillers were there for before and mid-journey, but...

5 months today. Diet going pretty well, down 6 lbs, about to begin exercising in earnest this week.

    THR Sports after THR?

My surgeon was both not conservative and very conservative at the same time because of my age. He didn't necessarily say "don't do X sport" but did caution that I'm young and if I want this thing to last a lifetime, to play it conservative. The main thing is not to wear out the joint with high...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Had a really concerning tweak the other night doing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. A sudden, instant BAM and I couldn't put weight on the leg. Thought that was it, the dreaded dislocation. Thankfully, I was in a spot where I could kind of just fall over onto my good side and lay down...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

I'll be following this, for sure! Thanks for the advice. I'm not looking for abs myself, just decent shape. I think my prime bodyweight is around 160-170, and I believe I'm between 200-210 right now. Not afraid to eat a lot less. I'm certainly not going to starve to death. But I want to be...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Hi hip twin! Cutting down calories is 100% part of my diet. Like I mentioned in my older post, the goal is roughly 1200 calories or less. I'm not a sugar guy. By nature, when I go on my annual diet, it's a lot of greens and proteins, minimal sugar. I actually hate cakes, cookies, pies, and all...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Definitely, for me it's mostly about not drinking. That's where I get my "bad calories." The exercise I do isn't really the intense part, it's the caloric intake. I'm with you though - count calories, and modify the diet.

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

I should note that the exercises vary and aren't necessarily always leg exercises. A typical workout would look like cycling for a bit, then bodyweight exercises like pushups & crunches, then maybe some seated weights. Most of what I plan to do is very easy on the hip and controlled. I'm not a...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

4 months in the books. Yay! Speaking of my aforementioned "health break," did anyone here get instructions about when it's okay to diet? In my pre-surgery exploratory days I came across an ortho's instructions not to diet immediately after surgery, which makes sense - the body needs nutrients...

    THR MissAC in recovery

I feel like it's pretty normal, just from walking a little bit different. I was having terrible knee pain prior to surgery, and my knee has periods of a completely different kind of pain now nearly 4 months after. But getting the knee and those muscles stronger can come later, when your body is...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Had a pretty great stretch of days overall despite coming down with a little bit of something. Zero pain meds for about 4 days! But, I'm a little stiff at the moment, and there's some pain in my quad/knee area. It's close to my annual health break (like some people do New Years Resolutions I...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

Also just a check in with everyone to see if this is normal... yesterday I got stuck in line at the post office for a little over half an hour with no chairs. By about the 25 minute mark I was in enough pain (not severe but noticeable) to consider retreating back to the car even though I was...

THR Anterior patients, I am questioning posterior pain. Dislocation?

I really don't know how. Every time you look at articles about changing careers, it seems like the pervading suggestion for something you can learn without going back to four years of college is what I already do... digital ad tech. Or coding. At the end of the day I simply can't afford to go...
