    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

@EalingGran the knee pain is in the tendons all across the front of my knee. It’s not the same every day, and sometimes gone, though usually present.

    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

I've had two TKR procedures. About two months ago, I began experiencing intermittent ache in the tendons in the front of my left knee, especially after sitting for 30 minutes or so. I've also not gotten to the place where going up and down stairs is pain free. Some days it's almost not...

    TKR What the Heck—I’m Freezing!

@Kickwheel I froze for the first month post-op too. Wore a fleece all the time and while icing I was under a blanket. Brr. It ended for me when I stopped icing as much.

    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

Hello! I'm now a year after my second TKR and 17 months after the first. My range in the left is good -- likely 120 most of the time, and probably between 110 and 115 judging on how I do on 8" riser stairs. Walking is easy. What remains a puzzle and has increased a little in the last few months...

    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

I’m not exactly sure how to post this so it’s seen. Please clue me in! after a super slow start to recovery, I noticed this week, that the swelling is nearly gone from both knees, I am walking well, my balance is good, range has increased by a few degrees in my right knee — maybe 110 now, and...

    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

Sorry I did not see this until now. The pain in my second knee was much worse in the beginning. Now, it’s about equal. It’s mostly just stiffness.

Revised PKR to TKR At a loss

I notice that you are in New York. Surgeons at hospital for special surgery give second opinions, including some as virtual appointments. It’s worth a look at their website.

    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

Here's a little update: I'm not sure what my flexion is now -- certainly greater than 100 degrees. I stopped pushing, and stopped stressing over it, and it's improving faster than the first one did. I'm grateful, and grateful to have more ability to just "live" rather than the intense focus on...

Much worse for the second one.

    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

@Niezy, there is no way I could have done the second one at 2 weeks. I had significant swelling with my first knee and about 30 degrees of motion at 2 weeks. The earliest my surgeon would have done it is 3 months, and then, only if I was doing really well and recovery fast. 5 months was early...

@sistersinhim I’ve tried this with a pillow. It works for awhile, but usually not longer than 30 minutes. I’ll be patient!

Good news today. At the 6 week follow up, flexion was just shy of 100 degrees and extension is 0. im Grateful that it was this so there’s no chat of MUA as there was last time. im Grateful for the progress, eager to be back in the pool, and super ready for less pain. This new one still feels...

    TKR 9 and 4 Months post-op

Thanks @Sara61 I’m relearning patience. Todays issue is how much more achy this leaf is than number 1. I used to be able to sit at the table for meals and bring my leg into a Ben until it just hurt and over some minutes, relax into the stretch, then increase. Now, an ache in muscles prevents...

Thanks for this info. I did talk to the doc today. My heart races when I’ve waited too long to take the medicine.
