Question about new pain manage technique

My doctor was telling me that I was going to be pleasantly surprised when I have my RTKR. He said that just in the 18 months or so between the LTKR and this one that there is a new way he uses to manage pain. There is less swelling, way less pain...and that most of his patients go home in one...

The right knee is ready to join the left one!

:yes 4: I am psyched!! I had an appointment with my os today and we set the date for my RTKR!! I am not having it done until June 12th. That way I can finish out the year (I'm a teacher) and go to my daughter's graduation before gaining my second bionic knee! I waited as long as I could, but...

5 Months out and all is well!

Happy 5th month birthday to my "new" knee! It is so hard to believe that I have had this knee for five months. In a way it seems like just yesterday...on the other hand, it seems like forever! Things I can do now (and have): a 5-K walk :yes 4:, Disneyworld and Dollywood, run down a set of...

Well, today I tackled something that I had not even tried before my LTKR. I went to a Zumba class. :th_yahoo: I can't say it was pretty...but I did last for the entire hour and 15 minutes! There were several moves that I didn't tackle, like the jumps and some twisty things...but I figured as...

3 Months and a lot of swelling

I paid a visit to my doctor today due to an excessive amount of swelling in the lower part of my leg. He was a bit worried that there might be a blood clot...sent me for an ultrasound test. It came back fine, thank goodness! :thmb: So...the verdict is that I have been over-doing. Imagine...

    Vacation at nearly 10 weeks

I will be leaving on a family vacation to Walt Disney World Friday. Any suggestions from anyone that has taken a trip after fairly recent TKR? It is about a 4 hour drive. I plan to rent a scooter/ECV while in the parks. Any ideas other than that?

    Odd "crunchy" feeling

I have a quick question. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced an odd crunchy type feeling in their new knee? I am about 8 weeks out and just started to notice it. It is in the knee-cap area. Doesn't hurt, I just kind of can feel things moving and really clicking/crunching in there...

    Pitting???

I just left a check up with my GP. He was very pleased with most everything...except he said that my lower leg (on my LTKR leg) was still swelling. He said that I was "pitting" to a 1 or 2. What exactly does that mean? He did tell me to elevate more and try to stay off of it a bit...

I am a bit frustrated tonight...my brain is very muddled. I have noticed this off and on since my surgery and thought it would get better. There are things I was able to do without a thought before, that I have to really pay attention to now...like the names of the students in my class...
