That's good news, Thanks! Are you golfing right handed? So you're talking about taking up golf about 2 years post-op? You have given me hope.

4 months have passed already! Still a Happy Camper. :) No pain in daily activities and I do not have that bone on bone torment anymore! Sometimes the knee may feel warm after exercise but no real swelling anymore. Daily Pool work is helping. Still do not have that good ROM yet to ride my...

Thanks everyone. NightQuilter. I've been using a handheld massage for a couple of weeks and it does really help! We only live about 20 min. from the beach but sometimes it is just nicer to relax at a beach hotel while and not worrying about driving home. We will be staying at Treasure Island...

My 6 WEEK Update. Still Happy Camper. Mobility: Getting around pretty good without a cane. Also, back to short walks with the dog (she is very happy). Physical Therapy: Finished Home PT. Did 1-2 visits per week mainly for stretching exercises. Was directed to complete exercises 2-3 times a...

Day 11 Recovery Update Pain level One. Not really pain but more of a discomfort reminder of the surgery. Swelling down to occasionally, more so after activity. Ditched the walker Day 7 for a Cane. Now only use cane when going somewhere (Doctor, shopping). Surgery fatigue is gone, sleeping well...

My PT told me today many of his patients talk about the dreaded "Bone-on-Bone Pain" and he asked what does it actually feel like? Had to think about that one for a while until I explained it felt like someone sticking a nail in my knee with every step. Sooooo glad to rid of that pain!

Day 6 Update. I feel hesitant about posting my updates after reading that so many are having difficulties with their recovery. But honestly, I have little to no knee pain (unless I step wrong & get a zinger). Just a tightness due to swelling. The main thing I realized this morning is that I...

Agree, just using it as a reference. I believe it will be a big improvement over before surgery eventually. No rush, not going dancing until next year The PT is a good one. Basic exercises and stretching with orders to stop if I have to grit my teeth during any of them. No mention of ROM...

@CT-Mike Too many years on FF & DDGs which greatly contributed to my knees going South. Does the CT stand for Crypto by any chance? I was an EW Day 3 Recovery Update. I think the nerve blocker wore off as predicted. Constant elevation and icing (Beluga ice therapy machine $180 on Amazon)...

TKR this morning. Prepped at 5:30, surgery at 7:30, in recovery around 9:30 am, home by 1 pm. Very satisfied so far. In pre-op took oral percocet and a anti-inflammatory pill given by nurse, General anesthesia by IV, and nerve blocker injection by anesthesiologist. The next thing I remember...

Time & Date set for this coming Monday, 2-22-21 at 7:15am. First up to bat that morning. Thinking about bringing some good Café Cubano for the Doc (and surgery staff) before he starts just to make sure he's awake. Will be general anesthesia along with a nerve blocker. Should be home by that...

33 days until my Left TKR (but who's counting). My pre-op meeting is scheduled for the 8th of February and my question list keeps getting longer every time I read bonesmart or another TKR book. My house is starting to look like a hospital/rehab ward with all the equipment that was provided or...

Thanks for the replies. I really like the idea of going home the same day. It also brings up the question of either a spinal block or epidural anesthesia (if given the choice). Also very good point about discharge meds so do not have to stop anywhere, I am going to check on that!

Hello everyone, I will be having TKR on my left knee soon (awaiting for scheduled date). Reading posts on here have been very valuable, thank you. My surgeon stated that I will be having my TKR in the morning and going home that evening. Then gave me 2 hospital choices, which both are highly...
