Good afternoon. I want to give an update!! This week is my 8th week. I went to dr last Thursday. He was very happy with my progress. I am walking pretty good. I still have numbness in my thigh down to the knee. He was surprised it was that far down, however feels it will lessen over time. I...
Hi Richard I am sitting here 26 days out with ice on my hip. The first week I used the ice in my thigh and hip. It really does help. I pretty much used it all day off and on. I walked every hour awake stopping to refresh the ice packs if needed!!! Hope this helps
Yesterday I went for 3 week X-ray. Everything is looking good so I can do a few simple exercises. The nerve zings are getting less frequent. Again PA said Gapentin could be taken to help with that. However I still don’t want to take it. I am now taking only baby aspirin 1 AM 1PM. We will see...
Good Morning. I am now 3 weeks from surgery. I finally moved upstairs to sleep at night. The recliner worked well but the bed. Aha nice to stretch out more. I am not doing the stairs by myself. My husband stays with me so I am alittle frustrated that I have to wait till he is available ☺️ I...
I was also wondering how long this tingles and numbness last in the thigh?? Thanks for the encouragement. I really need to listen to my own body.. the gym person owned our local curves perhaps a bit of bragging going on there. I agree with the pool I was told by dr at least 6 weeks. I am...
What great advice. I went Yesterday to dr to remove clamps. I was suppose to just see the nurse but she had the flu so lucky me a PA took them out. Still ouch. He said the incision looked great. I am still using the walker but kinda leave near me as I move around my house. Not confident...
I am making good progress. Slow and steady is my motto!!! I am finally able to walk (with walker). Without that wretched nerve pain. My thigh is still pretty numb though Yesterday stuck my head out the window for some fresh air. It was only 12 degrees out. I am looking forward to Monday. Clamps...
Hi. I am on day 10 of my healing journey. I would be cautious of the amount of Tylenol you are taking. I wrote down every pill I put in my mouth so I wouldn’t exceed more than 2000 per day. I couple of years ago I had blood work done when I was sick and my liver enzyme shot thru the roof...
The icing is every hour. I just leave there moving it till it thaws and I start again. They do provide narcotics but discourage using them unless you absolutely need them. I use hydrocodone, only 2 a day. The surgeon said he would give me 10 pills. As you know here in the states there is an...
Hoping you are on your way home today on the ferry. I can’t even imagine managing that !!! I had surgery jan 6 and only stayed one night in hospital. They actually wanted me to go home that day which was not happening of course I got very little sleep. I have been sleeping in a lift recliner...
Thank you again for your input. I think it helps to know that you share some of the same symptoms.. the swift path method is changing how joint replacement are done by decreasing the length of stay, improving the patient experience and lowering costs. It focuses on the patient as the most...
Thank you. I had my right hip done. Oct of 2018 I had my left hip done. I just don’t remember this burning pain last time. Same surgeon. Who by the way is very admired in my area. I maybe a bit impatient to get better. I am following the swift path method. I called the office and they called in...
I had total hip done jan 6. Anterior approach. I am experiencing burning pain down my leg. Not sure this to be expected. Anyone else have and how did you deal with it??
