    Spine jollyjules in recovery

Hello fellow THR folks! I had my rTHR on 12/27/19 and have done so well with recovery and full activity afterward. I am trying to see if this wonderful group has a forum for spine surgery. I am one week post-op for a L4-5 fusion (PLIP) and a L5-S1 diskectomy. Doing pretty well so far, but...

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Hello Fellow December Hippies! Just checking in after 2 and 1/2 months out from right THR. I'm doing really well, back at work, except now we just started working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We are hard hit in Seattle area, really crazy, things changing every day. But, I'm...

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Hi Layla, and all, Can't believe it's been a month (plus a few days) since my right THR. I'm doing well. Walking much more comfortably now and I've been doing a stationary bike for 10-20 min. I had a bit of a set-back this last week when I caught a nasty virus. In bed for 4 days! Finally...

    THR THR/A Doing Well

I've heard that about foot surgery! I'm 3 weeks post THR, right side and also have hallus rigidus on left great toe! But, if I wear the wider shoes I am not really bothered by it. I have been advised not to have surgery unless it gets so bad I'm limping or can't push off at all on that side...

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Also, sorry that I'm pretty low-tech, but is there a way to change my recovery thread name? It is titled "December THR". Probably because I was 2 days post-op when I started it and was a little foggy, haha! Anyway, if one of you kind moderators could change the title to, "Julia's Post-Op...

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Hi guys! I'm 16 days out now and am really pleased with how things are going. Getting around fine, managing pain with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. But, boy is my energy level low. Just wondering if you all could let me know when you felt more energetic. Now, I'm up and about for a short time...

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Thanks everyone. I am icing and elevating and had contact with my doc. He is so great, very responsive. He thinks it's as you all described, just some normal swelling. It seemed a bit different since it only started 2 days ago. But, I am icing a lot! and hopefully that will help. Just...

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Hey friends, Wondering if anyone has had symptoms like what I'm experiencing now... Took my bandage off on Thursday (per post-op instructions) and late Friday began having symptoms around the incision. Not hot, but tender and feels really tight. There is some swelling under incision area, but...

    THR Sulliy in Recovery

Glad you mentioned the feeling that the operative leg length is longer. I'm 8 days out, and started feeling that yesterday. Hopefully, once the gait gets more normalized and things settle that feeling should pass.

    THR Sulliy in Recovery

Congratulations on being on this side of the recovery process. My surgery was on the 26th, and while I am still tired (a lot), I'm moving better and much less pain now (just stiff and sore). I'm still on pain meds tho, Tylenol alternating with Ibuprofen. Of course, this is after you are done...

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Doing ok, balancing rest with a little bit of activity (short walks around the house). Major accomplishment today, not only took a shower, but got dressed! Felt good to be doing things that are part of my daily routine.

    THR Julia's Post-op Journey

Hello, I just had my surgery two days ago and am feeling pretty good. I had the anterior approach which I think gives a bit quicker recovery time. Has anyone started the thread for December THR's? It's been great reading all the posts, provides a lot of support and answers to questions. Thanks!
