THR Sudden onset pain and bruising<

Update. Saw Surgeon yesterday. The Ligaments are still attached, so he said that is why I am having pain when I move a lot. He wants me to go to PT to strengthen the muscled around the area, so I do not overwork that attachment.

    Awaiting pre op assessment

I understand your being nervous. I think we all were. I found the first week to be rough, but recovery came fairly quickly after that. Just rest and let your body guide you. I have now had both hips replaced and was back to work in 12 weeks, but long term recovery continues for up to a year...

    THR Hip number 2

Sounds like you are doing great. I had second THR in November. I found getting lots of rest so the body can heal from the trauma it has been thru was helpful. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated. And ice the leg to keep swelling down.

    THR THR 3 weeks out

I had general anesthesia for Right hip in 2015. Was out of it for 2 days. Had Spinal (with trepidation) for Left hip 4 months ago. The spinal was wonderful for me. See what the Anesthesiologist recommends, but don't be afraid of he recommends the Spinal. Helps with recovery. ☺

There is about 1 inch in location from original location. All of the bruising is in the back of buttocks and down upper...

:boohoo:I do not have the X-ray, But I did see it and I am an x-ray tech. I had Right THR in Feb. 2015 and the Left Hip THR Nov. 2018. I do see if I rest the leg, I start the day pain free. I am protecting the leg as much as I can and using a cane if I am not with patients. I just got back to...

THR Sudden onset pain and bruising<

I am 4 months out from my second THR (anterior approach). Everything has been great, moved to a cane on day 5. Came back to work in a physical job about 4 weeks ago. Last week I suddenly had pain in the groin and lateral area of hip. Then noticed that my buttocks was bruised and swollen. No...
