HI folks: I had a successful TKR about 7 years ago. The weather is cold and rain is coming; I'm feeling that arthritic ache in my TKR knee! which got me thinking: these things last about 10 years I'm told. What happens if I wear down the pad that's keeping my bones apart? Is a second surgery to...
Hello: I was wondering if there was a typical post surgery period of time when knee infections show up. And then is there a time beyond which the chance of infection becomes vanishingly small? Or maybe, do MOST infections appear in the first X number of months and beyond that, rarely?
Thanks...
I have the pump style version and it's terrific but I have an observation. I use frozen tubs of ice, not straight ice. The water circulating is cold but not REALLY cold. The instructions say to always use a protective cloth between the cuff and your skin, but I find that this cuts down the cold...

Apparently I can expect to be off from work for 4-6 weeks after a KR surgery. Does anyone know if there is some sort of workers insurance in place that would allow me to be partially compensated for those missed weeks? or am I dreaming?
Thanks,

Hi: so I'm on a second round of Syngoop--that viscous fluid that's injected over three weeks for osteoarthritis. The first time it helped a tiny bit for a month. Between then and now my knee has further deteriorated--even though I've redoubled my gym routine.
Anyway, my doctor at Kaiser has...
