After nearly two years of trying to get some answers, I finally had an allergy skin test for metal and polymer. I am allergic to nickel. Since most replacements have nickel in them I will be asking a surgeon if that could be the answer to the pain and fatigue and sore joints I have all the time.
I saw a new physio and he gave me new exercises to do. They made my knee and damaged foot hurt so bad and the pain kept me up every night, so I gave them up. I am a disciplined person and can tolerate pain but that was ridiculous. Sadly, my other knee and hip are very bad. I wish I could see...
Yes, Josephine, that is right. I am sorry. I didn't even know there was such a tool. I am waiting on the results of my xrays. I have always felt there was something wrong with my knee. Now, it is very painful to walk on. I am going to tell my husband this evening that I won't be able to...
I appreciate all your replies. I have xrays tomorrow. I tried to remember if I did anything different over the weekend and I can't remember anything. I like the idea of seeing another surgeon who doesn't know my first surgeon. My surgical leg was cut too short during surgery so I have been...
Josephine, Everything from the middle of my left thigh to the bottom of my foot is sore in varying degrees. The muscles on the back of my thigh hurt. The left and right side of my knee hurts a lot at night. The front of my shin is sore. When I shave my leg the nerve damage hurts. My ankle...
My knee was sore yesterday so I used an ice pack. This morning I found it very painful to stand on and both sides and the front of my knee are swollen. I have so much soft tissue damage from the first surgery and have so many problems with pain meds, I am quite apprehensive about maybe...
I'm 4¾ months out now. Pain meds make me hyper so there is no use in taking anything stronger than paracetamol at night because I won't sleep anyway.
The surgeon says I have developed tendinitis but I feel like there is something pulling on my ankle all the time.
It has been like that...
My heart goes out to you. I took over my own PT. I had a similar experience as the 70 year old. I was in severe pain for 30 hours afterwards and told the nicer PT I would never let anyone touch my knee again. My knee was like a water hose...the more water that runs through a garden hose, the...
I am 14 weeks post op for LTKR and need advice. All the muscles on the back of my leg hurt most of the time as does my knee. I have a 95 bend and a +10 straight. I have been doing gentle exercises to stretch the muscles. I stopped doing strengthening exercises because it seemed like the only...
@Josephine, Please ask the questions. I like this forum so much but I can't figure out how to use it properly. I'm sorry I previously posted in the wrong thread.
I'm 12 weeks post op. I'm only getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night. I don't want to go back on strong pain meds. They made me very nauseated and I lost too much weight to go along with my anemia. I can't use anti inflammatories.
I have a hiatus hernia which seems to get aggravated if I...
Oct 2nd was my surgery date. I've gone from being despondent to being hopeful. I couldn't have survived without my kind and loving husband. Even though he is 65 he still has to work and he has done everything from washing clothes to ironing to cooking, etc. I hope you have a special someone...
The advice on this site is 100% correct.
My surgery date was October 2nd.
My surgeon wrote a letter to my family doctor saying I needed to take even stronger pain meds(I had just weaned myself off of dihydrocodeine and had been sick as a dog). The reason for the stronger meds was to push me...
