@Arttie I think that is awesome to walk them!!! So many people do around here. I will have to see where the road takes me. I am letting God take over..lol. Right now I am very pleased with what I am doing. Went back to PT to thank them for everything today. I am going to miss that great bunch of...

TKR 6 weeks post op and missing my running....

8 weeks post op today! I went for my 8 week check up yesterday and the doctor and PA were very happy with my progress. I was all smiles in their office! I am feeling great! I don't have anymore pain and I am back at the gym. No running for me for a very long time, but I am making friends with...

    Time to Take the Leap

@SusieShoes Hi Susie! I had t have a stress echo done 5 days before my surgery. My PCP thought there were changes to my EKG (it ended up being bad lead placement). I had to see a cardiologist and then the echo. I prayed it will all be fine and it was . It ended up being a blessing because my...

TKR 6 weeks post op and missing my running....

@Joyfull61 Thank you so much for your post. It gives me hope. I will probably never long distance run again due to being afraid to wear out the knee. But if I could just get out there again one day at all my beautiful places to be outside and run I would be happy. I knew it would be a long...

@newlybionic Thank you so much for your response. I am so afraid of going back to that job. So many people have been hurt in the last year or so from psych patients or very obese patients. I have applied for a PACU job in ortho where I had my knee done. I am praying that comes through. It would...

TKR Jennszoo Staged TKR, working on running again

You have a good med protocol. I am allergic to morphine. So I only had 10mg oxy every 4-6 and robaxin.

TKR 6 weeks post op and missing my running....

Sorry about the block of text. I am following what my PT is telling me to do. I went to the gym today and I have no pain at all tonight. I think I am being very careful. I am even trying to find a new RN position. I am an ER RN and we work 12+ hours on our feet. It is an extremely busy ED (and...

TKR 6 weeks post op and missing my running....

Thank you everyone for your kind words and sharing your stories. I just felt so alone being an athlete. I would like to add to my story that I am a recovering alcoholic for 10.5 years. Running and working out has been a Godsend to me. Many people in recovery pick up running and cycling to get...

TKR 6 weeks post op and missing my running....

I had my TKR done on my right knee on March 9, 2017. I had 2 right knee dislocations and ACL replacements done in 1986 and 1994. These were first and second generation ACL reconstructions. My leg never went completely straight. I stayed active for a few years and then picked up running (for...
