Here is something that you should remember about your surgeon. These guys became surgeons because they love it. They do beautiful surgery because they want their handiwork to look fabulous and to work well. That is how they get their kudos. They spend hours and hours Learning to do this in...

    TKR Mollygram recovery

Came home yesterday. Wish we could have met. I have met several other Dr. Koonce replacements who seem to be so very happy with his work. I hope you are doing as well. I'm doing pretty darn well myself! Spending most of my time with my knee elevated and iced. Taking my pain meds on schedule I'm...

    TKR Mollygram recovery

@mg5457 Surgery scheduled for 11:15 AM. They took me in an hour early for the last surgery, and I was finished about 20 minutes after the surgery was scheduled to start :giggle: It would be OK with me to go in early again as it shortens the anxiety time before surgery :heehee: Who's your OS?

    Ice Machine recommendations?

I am absolutely an ice machine fan! My knee pads attach across the back with wide elastic straps with Velcro on each end. (I,too, am a big girl; and they cover the knee very nicely.) A very cool thing about the kneepads is that the lower part of the kneepad is intended to strap on below the...

    Lurker turned Scheduled

Yes! I did both oxycodone and tramadol as well as acetaminophenparticularly in early recovery. Everyone's experience is different. I think you said something about ibuprofen being a favorite of yours. It was a lifesaver for me pre-surgery; but I didn't find it very helpful at all post...

    Lurker turned Scheduled

I have found that ibuprofen works really well for arthritis inflammation; but acetaminophen is incredibly helpful for postsurgical pain. Wishing you the very best surgery and recovery experiences! Sent from my iPad using BoneSmart Forum

    Ice Machine recommendations?

I like the Breg Kodiak polar! I use frozen ice bottles (rotating 9 all totaled. A set of three in the ice machine and two sets of three in the freezer.) That will allow you to have ice on your knee as much of the day and night as you will be using it. Sent from my iPad using BoneSmart Forum

    Can synvisc injections help?

:bored:I waited so long for my knee replacement; and I really wish I had done it sooner. So I had my first knee replacement December 6, 2016. Yes I am still working on recovery (of course.) However, I am satisfied enough that I am going for my second knee replacement (the other knee) tomorrow...

Ossur Cold Rush vs Breg Polar Cube Ice Machine?

I used a Kodak Polar that I borrowed. It worked great! Whichever one you use, be sure to put a layer of cloth between your skin and the pad from the ice machine. That will help protect from frostbite. Of course you should check your skin periodically as a matter of course. Sent from my iPad...

Doing this as a single person

It would be best if you could get somebody to come by and get your dog out for you for the first little while. :dogwalk:Otherwise you can board/kennel your dog for a few days. You will want your dog to come home fairly soon because you will be amazed at how a dog kiss can help get you through...
