    Home from revision surgery

The crazy thing is just that... The "war on drugs" is not stopping a single addict from obtaining anything that they set their minds to. At the same time it is causing another epidemic -- untreated pain. The NIH has addressed that there is a real problem with not treating pain here in the...

Thank you guys so much!! I haven't been on in a week or so. So, here's the updates. Got me on 2 oral medications for the diabetes. I am still nowhere near controlled. I go back to the doctor tomorrow and will make some adjustments I am sure. The last week or so has been crazy. I have...

    Revision THR Nanamac's Story.....the Beginning (Part 1)

Re: I Have Hope...At Last! Oh I see... Positive attitude does so much for us. Doesn't it?? I have found that whatever I focus on gets bigger... If I focus on the problem it gets bigger, but when I focus on the solution it too gets bigger. I chose to focus on solutions today!!

Re: 17 Days Post THA ~ Is Recovery Normal? I'm glad that your anxiety has passed and that you are back on track to rest, ice, elevate, and take your pain meds. You are right where you are supposed to be.

Had replacement 4/2009 still have issues

Sharon and Wendy... Thank you so much for your kind words of support. This website has been a Godsend and people like you make it happen. Thank you again!! I am not a pity person. Matter-of-fact I recoil from it like a hand from a hot stove. I just don't have time for pity. I have found...

    Antibiotic Recommendation Penicillin Allergy

    C. Diff is no joke, but it is also probably not an issue for you. You are not taking the long term dosing that would increase your exposure. I was on antibiotics recently when my wife's grandmother (who we were care-taking as she has dementia) contracted c.diff. I helped care take this woman...

    Revision THR Nanamac's Story.....the Beginning (Part 1)

Re: I Have Hope...At Last! I'm glad that you are getting what you need from your current PT. As for the previous one that had the audacity to call you pathetic... I think that I would report that to the PT board in your area. That is far beyond acceptable. I have experienced some...

Had replacement 4/2009 still have issues

You are 100% right about counting blessings. With all that I have been through lately (as well as in my entire life) I have learned that is a true statement. It has carried me through a lot over the years. Man sometimes it's really hard though, but it sure beats the alternative.

    Revision THR Nanamac's Story.....the Beginning (Part 1)

Re: I Have Hope...At Last! Physical therapy... both dreaded and loved by "hippies" the world over!! And Physical Therapists... they are a fabled creature (like the unicorn)!! Seriously, PT is a wonderful thing if it is done correctly by a caring individual. Because of the extent of my...

    Bursitis - Cortisone Injection?

I had trigger point injections in my back that were only marginally effective, but that would be comparing apples to zebras so.... I digress!!:th_heehee:

    Easing into the harbor

Ahh, the elusive (often talked about) sleep of early recovery. It is frustrating, but eventually you sleep. Haven't heard of anyone dying from it (although sometimes you want to). I'm glad that you are recovering well and I love the harbor analogy!!

    Bilateral THR

Hey there... I am always amazed at you "bilateral's",but then I think well, I need the other side done and it would be nice to just have been "done" all at once!! I had a home health nurse that came to the house everyday, and she was a great help. Especially when I had the DVT and the...

Had replacement 4/2009 still have issues

Yeah what a week!! As for the bariatric surgery and the Type II Diabetes...if I could kill 2 birds with one stone how great would that be?? I swear that if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all! Thanks for your quick replies of support!

    Criteria for returning to work

My experience was that I was back at one month. My job was desk based (sort of) and a lot of up and down. It was one of the biggest mistakes that I made to go back to work so soon. If I had it all to do again I would've given myself 12 weeks to be honest. The commute is a long one for you...

Sudden groin pain, weakness after 4 mo.

Wow that is great news!! I am so happy for you. When will you know what the next step is? Actually I'm sure you know what the next step is... I guess my question is when do you get to move on to the next step? I'm sure you are eager to do that!! Keep your chin up and know that we are...
