    Knee Infection* One Good Leg.

Hey Karri! Wanted to sneak in to say my sister moved to Millville DE last fall and they're about five miles from Bethany and have spent the warmer winter days biking to Bethany. I guess they're in for a shock as traffic and people pick up as the weather gets warmer. :) Since we get to OCMD a...

TKR How Painful Will My Upcoming MUA Be?<

It's nothing compared to the TKR. Check out the link in my sig to my profile. The muscles in my thigh were very very sore for a couple of days from their lack of use, was worn than the joint pain for me. The relief of being able to bend easier and further outweighed any pain I had! Hope it goes...

    MUA Tigz's Lessons in Patience

Since I broke my postfast :D elsewhere I thought I'd give a 1.5 year update. Most days I don't think about the knee anymore, up stairs, down stairs isn't a problem. The only issue I have is when I'm on my feet most of the day at work and it's a bit stiff (probably swollen) at the end of the...

    TKR Post op infection risk

In the US the M in MRSA stands for Methicillin... an antibiotic in the penicillin class that isn't used anymore. It was the first 'cillin found to be resistant to this particular strain of Staph aureus, hence the name, but there are multiple other 'cillins and other drugs that are also...

Can my DH sleep in the same bed as me during my recovery?

We switched sides of the bed too... and I never gave him his side back. :) I was very restless for several months with my knee, but, my husband can sleep through anything, so it was a non-issue. If yours is a light sleeper, it might be more of a concern.

    MUA Tigz's Lessons in Patience

Popping out of a long lurkdom for an update. :) *Finally* had my one year visit today. He wanted the follow up between my surgery date (4/27/15) and the MUA (7/1/15). My flexion was 125 and he said my extension was much better than pre-surgery (didn't mention a number). A year out I can put...

Norton is telling me it's blocking an attack in Chrome, Firefox, and the MS browser. Chrome and Firefox are updated, as is Norton. Additionally I can't reply to any threads, this edit is from Tapatalk.

    MUA Knee manipulation

I felt more pain in my quad post manipulation than my knee. I felt the knee pain a couple of days later... when the quad pain diminished. Regardless take the meds they give you and be sure to ice and elevate for the couple of weeks post manipulation. I was using the walker the day of the...

TKR Turning a Corner with My New Knee

Sabbath my friend what a long haul! Here's hoping the GP realizes something's not right with the knee and it won't take long for you to see a different specialist!

Aspirin vs Xarelto or Eliquis As A Post-Op Anti-Coagulant

My OS told me they don't recommend aspirin as a preventative clot measure for someone with history of thrombosis. In my case, after having a series of tests to determine if there was a genetic or otherwise factor that could've caused my clot, the vascular doctor blamed it on my varicose veins...

Aspirin vs Xarelto or Eliquis As A Post-Op Anti-Coagulant

I had a superficial clot in a vein in my left calf several years ago. The OS and GP agreed the best course of action was to be on Xarelto for two weeks, than back to my regular course of one 325mg of aspirin daily. from my Galaxy S6

    MUA Tigz's Lessons in Patience

Ice is terrible! I think I'd take all this snow over the ice! He used the snow blower twice on the driveway, sidewalks, and to make a path for the dog. He was possibly going out again but has decided to wait for sunshine. My son is a 911 dispatcher and got stuck on the way to his sister's...
