    @houndmom I had bilateral hip replacement almost 3 years ago - and i couldn't be happier. The anticipation was much worse than the actual event. Keep with the forum for support and do your PT religiously (I still do it) and you'll be fine. Best of luck. charlie

    hi @catdemar - i had BLTHR 7/3/14 and couldn't be happier - i stand straighter, (people think i lost weight), my knees rarely bother me now (they hurt before the hip surgery - tore both ACLs skiing 30+ years ago - no reconstruction because at the time it was not routine and i'm very stable now...

    latest status report . . . i'm 3 days short of the magical 6 weeks, and it really is amazing - i only use a cane on stairs, i can put on sox and shoes and tie them (never thought i'd be excited about that . . .) walking outside without a cane ~.8 miles in 20 minutes. not breaking any speed...
