Just wondering whether other people still suffer with quad tightness years after knee replacement. Finds this cone on quite often when wearing different styles of shoes. Also does anyone have any suggestions of how to get rid of muscle tightness. Have been doing some exercises suggested by...
Hi
I have not used this site for site for sometime.
I had my first knee replacement over 6 years ago and my second just over 18 months ago. My 2nd right replacement is great and I do not have any concerns.
I seem to be having a few concerns with the first replacement which was done in 2015. I...
I am also allergic to nickel and I had s skin test at the local hospital to check for metal allergies before surgery. The tests showed that I was highly allergic to nickel. As s result I had a replacement that was coated with niobium and it proved to be successful.
I only had this test because a...
Yes as it is nice weather it has been good to get out in the garden
We have a small greenhouse so I have planted loads of seeds and planted up some plug plants. We have a pretty big garden, so there is always a lot to do. As the garden centres are closed, I intend to order some more bedding...
We had a problem finding eggs but discovered a couple of farm shops quite near to us that had plenty. Not sure whether you have any farm shops near to you.
Thanks for the reminder about going outside tonight yo applaud NHS.
Hope that you have recovered from your fall and knee is OK
Oh dear, sorry to hear about your fall, but it happens so easily. Glad to hear that you are OK and it is probably best to have a restful day. Take care.
I was hoping to go to the gym regularly and ride one of the bikes at the gym regularly because it is supposed to be a good way of building up the quad muscles after surgery. Sadly, I have frozen my membership for 3 months as it is not advisable to go there so that isn't going to happen. I have a...
Think I will have a restful day as it us raining yet again. Was looking forward to going to the hairdressers next week, but I suppose I will need to cancel the appointment.
Managed to walk a mile today without any crutches. Knee is quite achy now so resting and elevating. Great to be able to walk without the bone grinding arthritic pain though.
Lindylee, sounds as if you have made good progress. I keep thinking about getting into the bath, but think that I will probably wait another couple of weeks. Still have a little bit of swelling and I think that I need a little bit more flexibility.
Were you able to get in and out OK ?
We have a holiday booked in July in Spain. I think that it is highly unlikely that we will be going. It sounds as if this problem is going to be around for a while.
Saw physio today and he is happy with the way things are progressing. One concern I have is a medial pain which comes and goes...
It sounds as if we are fairly similar, regarding progress with knees.
Suddenly found today that I could just about walk downstairs in the normal way, so I was quite pleased about that. So now I can slowly go up and downstairs in the normal way, even though it takes time!
Oh that's interesting. Whereabouts did you work? I was a primary school teacher and worked for Solihull and Birmingham Education Authority.
How is your knee progressing? I seem to have days when I feel that I am making good progress and then seem to go backwards and suffer from soreness and...
That's a shame when you enjoyed it so much last week. It is difficult to know what the right thing to do is. It is tempting to self isolate and not go out anywhere or to carry on life as normal. The guidelines seem to be to carry on as normal at the moment but take sensible precautions-ss we may...
I think that you have made the right decision. It is not worth taking the risk unless you really have to travel.
Let's just hope that this virus does not last too long. The main reason I had this operation is so that we could travel more, but all of those plans gave been put on hold for the time...
I attempted to walk upstairs in the normal way today. Think I overdid it and ended up in pain for several hours. Think it will be a long time before I can go down stairs normally.
Joha My first knee replacement which I had in 2015 was fairly warm. Consultant told me this was quite normal and could last up to 6 months which is did and then settled down. My recent replacement which is 5 and a half weeks is slightly warm but not as hot as my first one
I think that it is...
Was going to go to the gym today to try and ride one of the bikes. Think that I will probably have a quiet day at home instead.
There is always tomorrow.
BeccaBoo can completely agree with Henrietta. I drove to a supermarket yesterday and did some shopping by myself. When I walked back to the car across the car park it was a slight incline and by the time I got home I was absolutely exhausted. Could not even get the shopping out of the boot when...
