@FCBayern thank you so much for responding. :) I’ve been wondering if I should call my dr tomorrow. I’ll take some deep breaths and grab another ice pack:ice:

THR Had left anterior hip replacement 3 days ago & home same day

Day 12: has anybody had groin pain after anterior hip replacement? Been having some more pain in the area and wondering if it is “normal” after surgery. Seems to happen mostly when sitting or when I try to lay down. I’m elevating and icing a lot which is helping. Thanks for your feedback.

THR chialiyu's recovery thread - 1/12 LTHR - Anterior Approach

@chialiyu glad to hear things went well with the dr. I can relate to the itchiness. I can’t wait for that tape to fall off. You are amazing for being back at work. Hope you are able to do everything and not overdo it. Be well

    THR Sashimu's pre-op thread

@Sashimu hi - I drive a Sub compact car that is low to the ground as well. Had similar restrictions after I had my right hip done. I started with short drives in my neighborhood to get my full confidence. I drove myself to Pt at about five weeks. Take it slow getting in and out of the car. I...

THR Had left anterior hip replacement 3 days ago & home same day

Day 11: well, day 10 ended a bit more difficult than it started. I caved and took a hydrocodone because of the level of pain that returned. Was more of a shooting/throbbing pain in groin area. I guess I shouldn’t be disappointed. I went up and down the stairs a couple of times yesterday and went...

THR Had left anterior hip replacement 3 days ago & home same day

@AbiHips hi - I had two different surgeons and have two different hips now. My second surgeon told me that I shouldn’t notice any difference at all. In fact, he actually fixed a length issue I was having after the replacement on my first hip. I’m hopeful it’ll be fine having a miss-matched...

THR chialiyu's recovery thread - 1/12 LTHR - Anterior Approach

@chialiyu yes! Definitely similar. I couldn’t help but notice another member said you aren’t taking anything. I’m slowly winding down on Meloxicam, lyrica and tramadol as well as Tylenol. I’m sure that’s helping a lot. Surprised to hear you are going without anything. You are a trooper! I’m in...

THR Had left anterior hip replacement 3 days ago & home same day

Day 10: I’m amazed at how different this experience has been than the last experience was. Last July, I was hoping insurance would cover a caregiver and using a walker. This time, I have weaned off of hydrocodone and taking Tylenol, tramadol. Using a cane at limited times but walking slowly...

THR chialiyu's recovery thread - 1/12 LTHR - Anterior Approach

@chialiyu I’m at day ten and also saw some bloodstain at similar time. Congrats on being able to slowly walk without the cane. Isn’t it amazing?! I went out yesterday for first time since surgery. Happy to be icing and off opioid pain meds at this point and on the mend. Cheers to a swift and...

THR Had left anterior hip replacement 3 days ago & home same day

How are you doing, @AbiHips? I’m home and on the mend. Happy to report that I’m slowly weaning off the strongest pain meds. Using a cane. surgical location feels sore and hard if that makes sense. Feeling much more optimistic than I did the first time around. are you home now?

THR Got a new hip yesterday and home the same day!

Hi - I had same day hip replacement a few days ago and was just wondering how you are doing since several weeks have passed since yours. I had anterior and went home same day but had to be monitored before leaving because I passed out for a couple of minutes due to light headed. Did you do pt...

THR Had left anterior hip replacement 3 days ago & home same day

I had the right done by a different surgeon back in July 2020 & this was a much better experience for so many reasons. Last time, I was supposed to have a hip resurfacing. It lasted for “20 minutes” before they converted it to a hip replacement which left me uneven. This time, I had a left hip...
