TKR Scheduling TKR After Hymovis Gel Injection

Yes, I have had the abnormal gait for some time as with the 3 joints that were already replaced over a period of 11 years a lot of adjustments to my normal walking and balance took place. I will focus on muscle memory with my PT as you suggest. Thanks so much!!

TKR Scheduling TKR After Hymovis Gel Injection

The July 17th and 24th HYMOVIS gel shots I received have given me total relief from pain and some range of motion for my left knee (right knee replaced 10/9/19). However, my gait is still far from normal. Is this something that others have experienced? When the HYMOVIS shot wears off (they say...

TKR Scheduling TKR After Hymovis Gel Injection

i had 2 Hymovis injections in my left knee on 7/17/20 and 7/24/20 to try and improve function. It was understood between me and my OS that this was a temporary solution to my arthritic knee problem because of the Covid. My right knee was replaced on 10/9/19. i recall reading on this forum that...

    TKR KMLknee's Second TKR Recovery

@SpaceGirl I had hydro with my right knee that was replaced in Oct ‘19. It gave me terrible nausea. Now I’m preparing for my left knee replacement that will probably be done in about 6 months. Did Percocet give you any nausea??

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

I had my right knee replaced last October. Everything is fine and I have had no issues whatsoever with the new knee. Throughout the months I’ve noticed a patch of skin in back of my calf of the operated knee that itches. If I start scratching I know it won’t stop so I put some lotion on it...

    TKR Muldoh’s TKR journey!

I also took the advice from the experts on here not to drive myself too hard with the PT i received after surgery. I left the out-patient facility assigned to me as they were handling that new knee too harshly and I left a session with more pain than I had going in. I still do the...

    TKR Muldoh’s TKR journey!

@Muldoh I had my right knee replaced on oct. 9, 2019 and had an unremarkable recovery except, like you, the nausea from the oxycodone almost defeated me. They gave me zofran and it made things worse! Finally, they gave me a combo of tramadol and Tylenol and that was better. i lost about a...

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

I’m determined to do the planning to make this work. Also, it’s quite ironic that my Oct. 9th RTKR is doing so beautifully and I really can’t enjoy my progress and do things I would like to do (like walking a mile or two) because the left leg is out-of-synch and gets painful with overuse (doing...

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

I think your points are absolutely on point and I agree that with proper planning I will be able to appreciably reduce the amount of $$ I spent the last time for household care services. Thanks for all your ideas!

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

@Sara61 i will call my OS office Monday to see if they have anything else to offer me to manage that left leg until I’m ready for TKR on that side. Thanks so much for the info.

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

@sistersinhim I live alone and have no reliable family/friends to assist me. After returning home from the surgery and for a reasonable amount of time afterward I was limited/unable to navigate cleaning, shopping, bathing, and laundry. I also needed transport to dr appts. i think I misspoke...

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

I agree with you. I’m just hoping that I can endure the discomfort long enough to emotionally and financially get prepared for another major surgery that will require me to obtain private nursing for at least 2 weeks.

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

@sistersinhim I wish I could say the left leg gives me only intermittent trouble, but the stiffness and “gnawing pain” happens everyday. it did surprise me that the gel shot did little to help me. Thanks so much for your support!

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

I had the hylauronic shot in my non-operated knee about 3 weeks ago and although there is some improvement I really can’t report anything major. I’m going about my normal routine and walking quite a bit. I feel stable walking without a cane; however, because of the left leg I feel like I’m...

TKR Is a decayed tooth really needed to be pulled before TKR

@Att52 I had a tooth extracted prior to my TKR as my surgeon (apparently like yours) refused to do the surgery with any infection whatsoever in my body. in 4 months I will have an implant procedure done to replace the extracted tooth. Good Luck!!

TKR ITCHING ON BACK OF CALF 1 YR AFTER TKR

@Sara61 Thanks so much for that excellent information. My insurance company will cover two gel shots per year. I only hope they work as well for me as they did for you!! The issue now is to get that initial approval. In the meantime, I’m going to have to resort to the cortisone shot day after...
