    [THR] Bickypeg's new hip

Pleased you like Ali. She is very special. A sore muscle can like heat but ice for inflammation or trauma. Sometimes you have to try and see. I had a checkup with my consultant and he gently told me I wouldn’t be an athlete at least twice. As our bodies move around and we become more active...

    [THR] Bickypeg's new hip

Yes its remarkably damp and rainy in the Calder Valley at the moment. It takes away any sense of cheer and brightness. On the bright side though no sign of any repeat flooding as yet. The floods seem to be avoiding our area at the moment. One thing that can be helpful if you think muscles are a...

    [THR] Bickypeg's new hip

Quite right about slimming clubs. I think weight gain happens for a while. You have to be a bit further on to be active enough to balance it. I saw the other one too a couple of years ago. I wouldn’t go back. Buying shoes is hard when you’re a uk size 8. None in the local shoe shop for me...

@bickypeg Jean Wilding - entrance to Albert St carpark will cut your nails etc without any fuss or upselling. I saw her a few times before I could manage.

    [THR] Bickypeg's new hip

Well thankfully you got to see a dr, although a locum. I think all the women gps who are currently permanent there are pretty good. I've been impressed with a couple but I've had to wait 4 weeks and booked it online. You could book yourself in for another visit in a month with one. See who's...

@bickypeg Boundary Mill at Colne is a good place for shoe choosing. They have Sketchers and lots of other 'comfort shoes' at discounted prices which you can see clearly. The advantage being its a useful place to walk round in the recovery phase.

Waiting to hear you've joined....Suspect its the seat belt and a couple of hours in the car a day... I was told internal stitches would last a year. Nice :angel:to get all that positive feedback from colleagues. You must be one of the human ones.

    [THR] Bickypeg's new hip

Its a while since I've been up to the Heptonstall cafe, must try it again soon. Strange unpredictable weather. Lots of bulbs wanting to open but deciding to stay closed. Its a long haul for us. The more active we become the more other joints have to adjust....

    [THR] Bickypeg's new hip

Like most of us we won't have had much sun last year. I was surprised to find I had low vitamin D which affects muscles, joints, gums, mood and more or less anything else. It might be worth checking it out or aiming for exposed skin for at least 20 minutes between 12 and 2. I got my dose...

Actually there has been quite wide spread flooding. Many main roads closed for several hours and railway tracks flooded. We are near the river in the next village and close to the river. Nothing like standing in your garden and watching the river rise. Agree it’s not the disaster of a few years...
