    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

Hi! :hi: Hope y’all enjoyed the holidays! @anny - I got my Peloton end of May last year and rode 2,750 miles on it through year end! :upright:How are you doing? @SurreyGirl - I’m not on a road bike. I’m indoor cycling. I’m too afraid if I fell with two hip replacements I’d be done for! My...

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

Hello everyone! Almost at the 6 month mark so thought I’d check in. If I didn’t have the scars I’d forget I’ve two hips replaced. At the end of May I invested in a Peloton and got rid of my beloved Sunny indoor bike. One of the best things I’ve done for myself. As of today I’ve done a...

@Mojo333 - I presume ink is referring to tattoo.

[THR] The sequel of Sequin 1998<

I’d wait awhile. At least until the scar is 100% healed. I didn’t cover the scar in case anything is needed in the future it would ruin it. Also ask your surgeon if you need antibiotics before getting any ink. Postop my first hip I had to take them. Haven’t seen my artist postop new hip so...

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

@anny - :wave:great to hear you’re checking out BitGym! You’re going to have fun. I stayed off the dedicated bike rides because a lot of it was just road and boring. I used the hike rides which brought a lot more scenery. There’s a particular one through Costa Rica that goes through a butterfly...

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

@BeBe - the BitGym app isn’t needed with Peloton. They have classes and scenic rides. I only used it with my Sunny. Yes.fit isn’t Peloton or even bike specific - you can cycle, run, walk races. Peloton has showrooms so if you can find one near you, you can take a test run. Be careful though -...

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

@BeBe - hello! Hope all is well with you. The foot can still be a bother some days, depending on activity level. Bought a wrap around ice pack that works great. :ice: To answer your question, the bike I was on is a Sunny, SF-B1509, which I bought on Amazon. It’s a great bike for the price...

Looks like you’re out and about and doing well. :yes!: I’m glad you didn’t do clamshells. I’m not a fan of them.

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

@anny - hello! :wave:Hope all is well with you. :) Very kind of you to ask about me. The midfoot arthritis is still there. I’ve elected to not go through surgery at this point. It would involve fusing the bones, surgery is lengthy (~2.5 hours) and I’d be non-weight bearing for 10-12 WEEKS...

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

@Layla - Tank and Izzie are doing great! :doggie::doggie: @anny - knee has calmed down considerably. The pool is getting filled next week but won’t open until last week in May. It’s usually on the cold side but not bad once you’re in.

    [THR] BeBe finally!!!

I’m coming up on 9 weeks and still have weakness. I don’t attribute it to the hip but more to the muscles in the leg.

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

 Hope everyone is doing well. @AJinNH - pool opens in a few weeks. It’s not heated so will be cold but I’ll be in it. Will be like exercise and icing at the same time. :heehee: Tuesday will mark 9 weeks postop. Had my last PT visit last week. I’ve taken several rides on my bike and just...

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

 Noticing more range of motion. Cool beans. Those pain pokes continue but as long as they don’t stay consistently in one spot I’m not going to worry about it. Just part of the recovery process. I’m back to work on Monday (meh) and advised PT this coming Wednesday will be my last visit. It...

[THR] Spring is right around the corner

Below butt cheek? If I recall correctly mine was just about in the middle of it. It took months to go away - I’d say about 4 months post-op. It wouldn’t bother me unless I sat on a hard surface.

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

@AJinNH - :driver::yes!: PT today. I’ve already advised my leg to listen to what I’m telling it. :) Found myself frustrated yesterday. Just a lack of patience...again. For me, this stage is the tougher part of recovery. And it’s going to be like this for months. My left side is angry at...

    [THR] Hike’s Recovery

Man oh man. Got my socks and sneakers on with amazingly no pain whatsoever! Then I went for a walk. My leg was like :flabber:. I got rid of preop sneaks and these are new. So I kept at it through the weekend with short walks, then rest and ice. On the op leg I’ve got pain on both sides of IT...
