    [TKR] Marie’s TKR Journey

Everyone told me not to have a bilateral because then I wouldn't have a "good leg" to stand on. I was like you, neither knee was all that great to begin with. Two hips and two knees, you're gonna be the biontic woman! Regarding squatting....I can squat if I don't have to go all the way...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

@InkedMarie and so much blasted drama and misinformation! LOL Mine doesn't hurt either, with the noises. I still get a little tingling/swelling/tightness (especially towards the end of work). I go see my PT on Monday, just to get his opinion and advice.

@Roy Gardiner This is good to hear! :) also, just wanted you to know, I used your exercises as part of my regime. Mixed in a few of my PT's exercises and the rocking chair and the big physioball. Way better than a gym and equipment.

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

@Jockette , this is just what I wanted to hear. Not that your outcome hasn't been good....but that there is still room for improvement. I called my PT and left a message, waiting on him to get back to me tomorrow. I have not complaints about ROM, just looking for some reassurance all this...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

9 months post op....same complaints I had at 4 and 6 months. I'm starting to wonder if this is as good as it gets. Don't get me wrong, it is far better than it was prior to surgery, but it isn't perfect. I still have some achiness and my knees hurt to push on them or "feel" them. They are...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

No I don't have it, didn't think to take a picture of the xray...I did see it, looks the same as the other knee. OS didn't seem worried about it. I asked him about restrictions or anything additional to do to help it resolve, that's when he said it should resolve by my next apt (in late May...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

Had a follow up with the OS today, with xrays. Everything looks great, he's happy. Red spots on Lefty are "most likely the internal stitches, they look fine, keep an eye on them and let us know if anything changes". He said there was "a little play in the tibial component, but that should...

[BILATERAL TKR] Anyone get this rash? 2 weeks post op

I had a rash nearly two weeks after surgery, OS said it was hives. Benadryl pills and caladryl lotion did the trick for me. Also, as Celle said, wash the area to remove anything that could be on the skin causing it. Our bed isn't super high, but I'm really short. My husband made a platform...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

@beachy Weird thing is i went back to work at 6 weeks and only had issues the first coupke of weeks. But i have been trying to loose weight abd am doing a lot more intentional walking at work (intentional as in not necessary)....I'll scale it gack for s while and see if it makes a difference...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

I'm not sure how helpful my answers are going to be because I'm not taking meds or doing exercises/PT. I wouldn't be bringing any of this up except it feels as though I'm regressing. I was over a month with no issues, no discomfort what so ever, now they are tender and achy. 1. Pain...1 to...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

In the beginning my swelling was awful. My entire legs, ankles and feet, even my toes, they literally felt like they were going to burst open. Now (18 weeks postop) after work, I have some visible swelling, more like puffiness, on Lefty. It feels like it swells a lot more than it looks like...

Phew...I knew that...the scar tissue vs adhesions. And I didn't really think much about it until she kept pointing it out. And, yes, Josephine, I'll answer your questions. Thank you!

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

Question! The tight band feeling across the front of the knee...I've read the post from @Josephine dated Sept. 13, 2017. I have one knee that is simply a little tender in that area but "Lefty" extremely tender there and you can feel and almost see a ridge there. My normal massage therapist...

    [TKR] Beachy in recovery<

I've had the x-ray guided steroid injections into my spine...not as bad as they sound. Drove myself to and home from the experience. Haven't had one since last April. I hope this calms them down for you.

Just the left, Josephine...the right is fine, unless you're seeing something I'm not! LOL

    [TKR] Beachy in recovery<

Just thought I'd check in and see how you are doing and how you made out today with your appointment. My back has been giving me fits on and off...but it is a lot better than before I had my knees done. The cold and snow storms are really bothering mine; some days are great others are stiff...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

I've always had this little red mark on my scar every since the bandage came off on day 9 or 10. It stays pink with darker sections. It seems to form scales that flake off. It has never been hot/warm to the touch, it's never seeped or bled, it's never been filled with puss or broken open. It...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

Update on my Two Month Follow-Up with my Orthopedic Surgeon today... He said he was really happy with my progress. When he came into the exam room, I was sitting on the chair, with my ankles crossed and pulled back underneath me. He stopped dead in his tracks and said, "well, there's something...

    [BILATERAL TKR] Neehutchy's Recovery<

Post op visit today, first time seeing the surgeon since discharge from hospital. Xrays are fine, was surprised/happy my bend was more than 90 and my knees would go flat. Said, and showed us on the xrays, I have no cement, he used the press fit technique. I have no restrictions. He said...
